NY Times Just Found New Evidence That Makes Trump Jr’s Scandal Even Worse
Donald Trump Jr. “was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email.”
“The email to the younger Mr. Trump,” the report continues, “was sent by Rob Goldstone, a publicist and former British tabloid reporter who helped broker the June 2016 meeting.
In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Trump acknowledged that he was interested in receiving damaging information about Mrs. Clinton, but gave no indication that he thought the lawyer might have been a Kremlin proxy.”
Don Jr.’s admission, that he, Jared Kushner, and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort took the meeting precisely because they expected to get damaging information on Hillary Clinton, has only made a bad situation worse.
Now the news of this email further complicates their already struggling defense because it
removes any lingering doubt that Don Jr. and the Trump campaign knew exactly who they were meeting with, and how connected she was.
“Mr. Goldstone’s message, as described to The New York Times by the three people, indicates that the Russian government was the source of the potentially damaging information.”

This.
Is interesting.
Right now.
Lets see what it brings. Lots of ways to paint it as innocent, but nonetheless could be interesting if certain things fall into place IMO.
Holy he really did collude
The meeting was a big zero.
No problem that Trump jr. was looking for dirt on Clinton.
Did Jr go to the meeting expecting to get dirt on Clinton from a known Russian government source... not clear.
And gonna be difficult to prove. The emails have got to be scrutinized. We wait...
It's not good Jr just added this to his contact list, but not illegal methinks.
So, is that Russian lawyer Guccifer?![]()
Damage done.
Trump linked with Russia.
All that need be said from now on.
Since when is adoption a crime

Just for that baby farms stay closed.
No, but he really really wanted to. But, she had no dirt. Oh well.
Because she was there to talk about adoptions.
Nah, that was obviously a lie.
And? The fact that he went into that meeting wittingly and knowingly that he would be getting dirt on Hillary from a russian national person is collusion on its face. It doesn't matter that he didn't get any information. He went into it full knowing that he could get it...from a russian person. That meets the term collusion. Look it up.
And it doesn't need to be proven because the idiot son himself caughed up to it. The email being tracked and found would just be icing on the cake but it's really not needed in this case when you have named sources collaborating the meeting. (The son, Kushner, Manafort and the lawyer)
From a Russian person does not do it.
Need to prove he expected to meet and get Russian government dirt on Hillary specifically for election purposes.
And all this time, I thought they were looking into collusion with regard to the hacked emails.
Well ya see Trump decided it would be best to get a Special Counsel involved who can look into just about anything he wants. The fat head shot his family and friends by being a stubborn fool.
Attorney Tor Ekeland, a criminal defense attorney who has represented high profile clients in hacking cases, has suggested in multiple tweets that Trump Jr. may be guilty of exactly that.

Neat conspiracy fact- you don't need to know the iden y of your co-conspirator to be guilty of conspiracy.

Tor Ekeland @TorEkelandPC
An act in furtherance of conspiracy can be as simple, and quite often is, just going to a meeting.
10:49 AM - 10 Jul 2017
, Ekeland wrote, “[D]epending what [the Trump camp] thought the information was that they were receiving it’s possibly a felony because it might meet all the elements for criminal conspiracy, or aiding and abetting, or attempt.”
The charges Ekeland listed above are what the law refers to as
“inchoate” crimes, basically meaning that the crimes were planned out, and acted upon, but need not ever actually have been committed.
For example, two or more people could be arrested, charged and found guilty of the crime of conspiracy to commit murder even if the murder in question never occurred.
‘collusion’ is a synonym in this case for ‘conspiracy’. You don’t need to know the iden y of the co-conspirators or the precise details of the illegal act you’re contemplating. I think you’ve got probable cause in this case to get a search warrant or maybe even an arrest warrant.”
“Three of the top people in the Trump campaign [Trump Jr., Paul Manfort and Jared Kushner] took time out of their day at Trump Tower to meet with this person. It’s ridiculous that they would have met with her without knowing her iden y. They shouldn’t be speaking publicly about any of this. Their lawyers are idiots if they’ve advised them otherwise.”
“I think the whole thing turns on the nature of the information they were hoping to get. It depends what they were trying to conspire to do.”
“The conspiracy could just be between the Trump campaign, the illegal object could be to get illegally obtained information–the Russian could or could not be a co-conspirator.
All you need is an agreement and an act in furtherance, it doesn’t matter if the Russian doesn’t have the information she promised to have.
(Note: Conspiracy essentially has two elements:
(1) seeking an unlawful objective;
(2) an act in furtherance of that unlawful objective.)
The agreement underlying the conspiracy could just be between members of Trump’s campaign.
All it would take is the meeting as an act in furtherance if they were trying to get stolen information.
There are multiple possibilities [for conspiracy charges] here.

“The meeting was meaningless, did nothing to produce anything. Where’s the collusion?”

Is paying a Ukrainian national and a British national to gather opposition research collusion with a foreign government?
