I just don't understand the Spurs' draft process this year especially with some talented bigs like Bell and Bolden still available that would translate well to today's NBA.

With Forbes playing the way he has, the White pick is looking wasted. It is the end of the 1st, so you really can't be picky.

A real head scratcher. When white was drafted my first reaction was wtf but then thought I guess this means that two of manu, patty and/or simmons would be gone.

But it looks like at least two of those three return and the spurs are short on bigs. Bell or another big like Bolden was the proper route when viewing the draft in hindsight with the current roster.

It's a wasted pick. It's a wasted roster spot. Wasted years. It's not about being picky but making the best pick you can.

The FO lost out on Bradley, so RC listened to his friend Ted and took White. It was obvious to some like me and MaNu4Tres that White wasn't the right pick. Bell was a steal, some of us knew that, and so did the Warriors.

Didn't even need hindsight, tbh. The Spurs needed a big and they went with a guard for a team full of them in a draft full of bigs. A team that was planning on re-signing Patty anyway. Total waste of a pick.

I was very interested in Jordan Bell. I have no ing idea why the Spurs went with White over him.

I was also very interested in Bolden as I've watched his Dad play here in the Australian League. I haven't really watched the Australian league for years (ever since I've had access to the NBA haven't followed it much), but when I used to watch it both Dave Simmons and Bruce Bolden were good players in this league. Bolden, I think could have been a great pick for the Spurs if they didn't want Bell for whatever reason. I hope I don't end up hating White for the front office potentially ing up.

Same. There were at least five guys I would've chosen over White at 29. Bell was number one...

Ol Ted from Colorado told Drunkford to take his boy and RC obliged.

    True.

I was naive and didn't think the spurs priority number one was to reup patty for four years at the stroke of midnight. I thought he was a goner on draft night.

RC ed up in the draft last year by picking the wrong point guard while a certain 2x ACC DPOY / ACC POY / 1st team All American was still available on the board and telling the whole ing world that he's a Spurs fan.

This year, RC tried to make up for that bungle by drafting a poor man's version of that guy they should've picked last year, thus missing out on other immediate contributors like Bell in the process.

They are better off giving Afflalo a 1+1 deal.
