What's so great about this guy. Physically, he's definitely a downgrade.
He seems to be a pretty good shooter, something the Spurs desperately need. And for shooter he seems to be pretty good in terms of athleticism and ball-handling abili es too.

Why is he a downgrade physically? He's just as much of a leaper as Simmons is.
He's a shooting guard with the size of a point guard. Simmons, on the other hand, is big and long.

I hope you're right. His summer league sitting stats I saw were not impressive.

    Simmons has relatively short arms.

What are the Spurs doing? I don't understand these moves
Not surprising .. you're not an NBA GM or front office guy. You're out of your element ... like most people here.

Simmons replacement I reckon. Seems to have a nice stroke and a spring in his step from the highlights of summer league.

It might be a two way contract.

I see some Dion Waiters in his game. Hope his game will be translated to NBA immediately and hoping his defense is decent.

How can Kawhi leave Fat Antonio to go to LA and be close to his family. I just don't see it. PATFO have really outdone themselves with the amount of talent they're surrounding him with.

Jaron blossomgame, Derrick white, Brandon Paul, Danny Green, Dejounte Murray, 35yr old Tony Parker, No Achilles Rudy Gay, unhappy Aldridge, Kyle Anderson, Bryn Forbe$, King Joffrey and no shoulders Bertans

    Thank you PATFO!
    Omg lol

it, I'm on the bandwagon of this dude. I hope he gets some playing time.

    http://kingjamesgospel.com/2017/07/1...io-spurs-cavs/

While averaging 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three-point range across seven games, Paul averaged 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals for the Cavs’ Summer League squad while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from three-point range.

Paul possesses a smooth offensive game. With solid ball-handling and the ability to make pull-up jumpers if he doesn’t make it to the rim, where he has a quick leap to finish above the tin, he’s been an effective scorer not only throughout the Summer League but against players like the Golden State Warriors’ Patrick McCaw, a player who received minutes in the 2017 NBA Finals and was a rookie sensation in the eyes of the Warriors’ fan base throughout the 2016-2017 season.

Defensively, Paul’s ability to play his defenders close without fouling is accentuated by his tenacity and hustle. Against the most elite players in the NBA, Paul isn’t likely to stop them but will make it as hard as he possibly can for them to score. That’s a defensive trait that may not show up statistically but is admirable; young players making it to the NBA in the manner that Paul is, as a Summer League pickup, are the players that are grinders. Those grinders are players that you’ll need on your team at some point in the season.

Paul is a grinder who should be able to score effectively against second unit players and, if he’s anything like Jonathan Simmons, score effectively period.
Being able capable of making the tough jumpers as well as having the ability to consistently create space for himself to get off an in-rhythm field goal attempt is a bonus for the 26-year-old Illinois native.

After doing some research on him, looks like a solid signing. He's got nba level athleticism, should be able to create his own shot, might be able to run point in a pinch, and has a good looking shooting stroke.

Low risk, high reward. I'm on board.

Still want another big though who can block a shot.

Forbes is the shooter, this guy is the slasher. Tiny backcourt. The Spurs tallest guard is Murray at 6'5. Spurs will roll out a all guard lineup for the 4th quarter next year.
don't put it past popovich of having an all guard lineup in the 4th quarter of a game 6 in the playoffs with danny Green at center

Damn, you're right. Now the Spurs only have five players who can play the three instead of six.
