Spurs must really see something in him to give a guarantee to him, as opposed to a camp invite. Insurance against Manu not returning and Green leaving next year.
He's related to Cliff Paul, and he wears No. 3. That's all RC needed to know to buy into the State Farm.

Man, if you had told me before the summer that the Spurs would be able to sign a guy named Paul who wears jersey #3, I would've cried tears of joy.

They looked him in the eye and what they saw in the reflection was... despair.

Been pouring over video the last couple days and I am really excited about this guy. Always seems to be on balance when he shoots, and he has a gorgeous looking shot.

Looks to be strong enough to finish in traffic, and is a fairly good passer as well.

Can't wait to see him play in person.

Hope he enjoys losing playing time to Manure and his mandatory minutes.

He plays bigger than his listed height. He got that Kawhi attribute where he's big and has a lot of length. He's going to get a lot of new moves learning from Leonard.

Murray in contrast doesn't have the weight and is easily pushed around. Murray also has no shot.

See him playing plenty minutes in Austin. Spurs are going to push Leonard to SG with Gay at SF, and Green coming off the bench. White will join him there.
Mills, Murray, Manu, Leonard, Gay, Green, Anderson, and Forbes are all ahead in the pecking order. Just don't see much room on the 12 man roster.

I think Mills-Green-Kawhi-Gay-LMA will be starting line up on opening day..

It's more likely Gay starts at the four with LA. Pau anchors the second unit.

    Mils/ white/ paul
    green/ Murray/ white
    kawhi/ blossomgame/ green
    gay/ Bertans/ JL
    lma/ pau / JL

just a guess, but after summer league, I'm not so sure pop gives Murray much responsibility unless hemakes big changes in camp or preseason. Paul and white are showing a much higher maturity level right now

I think that's right. Paul has a lot more experience than Murray and will likely play more minutes than Murray.

White has only played a year of division I basketball but he's got better handles and shoots better than Murray. I think though that Murray and White will get the CoJo treatment and spend time in G-league.

Gay is not a PF and can only play the position in limited minutes when they go to small ball. Gasol or another player who has yet to be signed will start at C. No way LMA survives playing extended minutes at center. For now C-Gasol. PF -LMA. SF-Gay, SG- Leonard, PG - Mills/Parker when he comes back. Green will be better suited to bring defense from the bench, and the team will get a better start offensively.

The more I watched a video of him, the more I liked this signing. Hope his game really translate I'm NBA. I see some Dion Waiters on his game and his shooting stroke (high arc) is really legit. He could actually give an effort on the defensive end too, see how many blocks he had in this game below against Sullinger's team:

    https://youtu.be/OOfHjgzOMBs

Was wondering why he went undrafted though.

Spurs sending a message to Simmons like players that they are easily replaceable.
