It's too bad nobody there had a handgun. If I had been there, that wouldn't have been the case (because of something that happened earlier in life where a guy was shot right in front of my eyes at a mall, I carry a .357 at all times) and this crazy mother er would have been dead on sight.

D, I respect u, I think ur takes are funny.

But I live a very different reality than the one u do as a guy w/ bipolar disorder type 1. Ppl like me need God, need Jesus. If you'd like to know more you can ask me. You know nothing about me or what kind of I've been through in my life. And He's showed up, had to. Atheism is for the priviledged.

Did he have duct tape and offer to choke you if it would make you ? Just sounds so much like Jesus.

Atheism isn't a choice. I can no sooner choose to not believe a god exists than I can choose to not believe the sun exists. The belief is compelled by the absence of evidence, or any reason to suspect there might be evidence. If you feel better pretending a god exists and that changes in your life are because a god did it instead of people/random luck/yourself then have at it. I don't begrudge you your beliefs. I just think they are silly for anything other than the therapeutic reasons you cite.

I am hardly "the privileged". I didn't believe it when I was 5, never did since. These days I have more cool sounding reasons but they all boil down to the simple lack of evidence that one does exist.

I suggest you protect yourself by avoiding topics where you feel compelled to talk about your god if you don't want people to give their opinions on it. Otherwise you're going to get your feelings hurt a lot.

Take your meds, stay off forums like this where people are assholes for the fun of it.

    "protect myself" "feelings hurt"

    LOL

i don't pretend . The only pretending that's going on here is you pretending to be able speak on my behalf as to the veracity of my religious convictions and the compelling life experiences upon which they are based and which you pretend to be able to speak on because it makes YOU feel better.
