Imo, if he had a prime Ginobili and a Prime top 10 PG of all time in the Great Tony Parker..who knows what he can accomplish but he has to settle with Kyle Anderson and Derrick White.

I predict he would be the best spur ever.

    What do you guys think?

Are you saying Kawhi doesn't have help bro? PATFO know what they're doing! Just look at those 5 rings they won with ZERO talent and just Pop's system

Kawhi would be foolish to leave this great supporting cast, fit fans, clean creek, and healthy food to go be with his family in Los Angeles

If kawhi leaves for LA like most of his biggest stans want, it don't matter how good he plays he won't be considered a top 4 Spur unless he plays more than half his career here

He's won his le here, so I'm betting his stays for at least the next big contract. He's not a desperate ring chaser because he already has one so why not cash in with the team that can pay you the most by far? That gives the Spurs time to upgrade the roster. Yes, the current roster doesn't look too exciting, but the Spurs will moneyball it to 55+ games. The real problem is that moneyball will get you a nice regular season, but it won't beat the Warriors.

No Penny Hardaway on your list? Although 6'7", he was a point guard, and a damn fine one too.
Yeah but at that rate I might as well put Oscar Robertson and LeBron as PGs too since they handled the ball so much. All 3 would be top 20, 2 of the 3 over Parker (LeBron and the Big O definitely top 10 all time) with Penny around #20 bc of his short prime career

I don't think Kawhi on that 2003 team wins the le, and I still say Duncan in his prime is the better player. However, as time goes on I'm legit beginning to worry if will even be lucky enough to have Kawhi in 2019 onward. At some point he's going to want to be on a le contender, and surrounding him with the players you mentioned along with the Spurs striking out in free agency isn't going to help.

I do agree that he as the potential to be worst case top 2 Spur all time.

If he wins MVP he will be right there with DRob (DPOYs, MVP, ring). But DRob had better career stats and intangible value to SA in the community. Kawhi would have to stay his whole career to make up that gap.

We can play this game with DRob too... if he had a prime Ginobili and Parker... DRob would've rang before TD's arrival. Except you don't extend that same courtesy to him and prefer to knock him down. I love that Kawhi is the face of the Spurs franchise. He's a greater player than most people give him credit for - always adding to his game. Relentless. Assassin-like.

The problem with player fans like you is that you love Kawhi more than you love the Spurs... and you actually would prefer that he leave the franchise.

Taking a closer look at where TP really stands:

    Top PGs of all time...

    1. Stockton
    2. Magic
    3. Kidd
    4. Nash
    5. Steph Curry
    6. Isaiah Thomas (the first one)
    7. CP3
    8. Glove
    9. Pistol Pete
    10. Cousy

The top 10 of all time are the model PGs. They all averaged a ton of assists or were the cornerstones of franchises that won multiple championships, and never shrunk from the moment in the playoffs or big games, always leading their teams.

    11. TP
    12. Tim Hardaway
    13. Billups
    14. Kenny Smith
    15. KJ
    16. Westbrook
    17. Rose
    18. Walt Frazier
    19. Kyrie Irving
    20. Mark Jackson
    21. Jerry West
    22. Mark Price

The top 10-22 guys are also franchise cornerstones, but had flaws. Be it stacked teams (Kyrie, Billups, Kenny Smith for example) or no rings (Westbrook, Mark Jackson, Hardaway), or lacking some dimension of game (Price couldn't really defend at the highest level, neither could TP, Mark Jackson wasn't the best shooter in the world), or short stints at an MVP level (Rose, Walt). Great all-time PGs but no one in their right mind would pick for a career franchise PG, for example, a TP over a Jason Kidd. Or a TP over a Gary Payton, Steph Curry, Stockton or Isaiah Thomas.

C'mon bro. Tony is clearly a top 10 PG of all time. Possibly top 7.
    NO!!

Magic, Stockton, Zeke, Big O, Cousy, Kidd, Fraizer, Payton are without a doubt, not even up for discussion better. Then you have guys like Paul and Nash that many of you will debate. Yeah, go ahead and bring up rings. Because if you do, I've never seen anyone include Sam Jones in their top 10 or top 15 all time and he has 10 rings.

Tony Porker top 10 all-time PG?

    Top 30 maybe.
Lol, the top playoff scoring PG of all time and one of only 5 PGs to win FMVP. Also the winningest NBA player of all time (min 1000 games).

Ok, I don't even know where to start with this.

First, you say the guys on the top 10 list were all cornerstones of franchises that won multiple championships? What?! Let's put that to the test:

    1. Stockton - Never won a single championship.
    3. Kidd - Won ONE championship as a role player.
    4. Nash - Never even made it to the Finals!
    7. CP3 - Never even made the Conference Finals!
    8. Glove - Won one championship as a role player.
    9. Pistol Pete - Never won a championship.

When you combine over half of your top-10 list, you literally get 2 role-player les!

Acturally, Parker was a role player in 2007. It's just that we had the mismatch with Cleveland's backcoourt

He broke that guys ankle. Healthcare and the treatment of sports injuries has greatly advanced over the decades. That guy probably died from complications.

The 50's/60's spin move was literally deadly and this video is confirmation.

GS can't win forever even if they keep that team intact. They might win 2 or 3 in a row first but they'll get knocked out eventually. If Kawhichael wins an MVP and the Spurs are the ones to knock them out while he has a monster series it would do so much for his legacy. You'd have to start putting him in the Top 20 all-time discussion, tbh.

The Spurs have been a top 4 team in the league in every year of Kawhi's career except 2014-2015. Why would he not trust PATFO to build a contender around him in the future?
