There are so many boats going out at any given time with thousands of passengers on each... of course you're going to hear a few horror stories. But that isn't even close to the norm, that's just what gets publicity.

I never went. What's it like, Mitch? Is it crowded? Are the rooms adequately A/C'ed? What do you do all day on board?

Shut the up. Nobody wants to hear your bilge about a boat trip.

You gotta pay a premium for a room bigger than a budget motel, Cub. I went on a few cruises mid-late 2000s, economy classes and executive suites. With economy you got a desk, TV, bed, hardly any walking room and a bathroom (i heard some economy cruises have shared bathrooms). With a suite, you get a bedroom, living room and maybe a balcony. Lots of activities, pools, movies, games, shows, etc. You will probably blow through most of the entertainment before the cruise is over though Night sky is awesome to look at when moon isn't out, though.

Food is pretty good, you'll probably like it if you like buffets and mid-tier restaurants. Usually the bars are great, only went on my last time in 2009 - had 3 inclusive drinks a day which was nice.

Biggest plus for me was that it was pretty relaxing, tbh. Clean sea air, good sun, great temperature usually

Getting seasick isn't a problem on those big ships?

It's possible, but those big cruise ships you hardly feel the boat on a fairly calm day. If you get sick they got medicines on board to help out if I recall.

I was on one once that had one day of really rough seas, which it has to be really ed up to feel it....so gross to see people walking around and then just stopping to vomit all over the place. Like I said though, it was just one day out of the three week long cruises I've been on.
