Option #2 for sure. They have been atrocious.
Awful! I'm speechless.
Option #2 for sure. They have been atrocious.
This front office is one trick ponied out (Tim Duncan).
Try as they might, even the apologists can't spin this one. They're going to pay an average of roughly $28.5M for the next 2 seasons, for 2 match-up dependant players, who are virtually unplayable against the teams that matter most.
Before asking him to opt out, why didn't they just say, if they don't do anything significant, they'll essentially give back what he opted out of?
They've either gone senile or are just content with good being good enough. Either way, they keep doing stupid , they deserve to lose Leonard.
Just wait until next off season, when Green, Anderson and Bertans are given significant raises, Parker more than expected and if the situation proves irreparable, Aldridge replaced by Favors.
Looks like either that was initially the plan, or never was. Either way, in the end, Pau swooped in like a vulture after the Spurs failed to sign anyone and took as much money as he could.
Has anyone tried defending it yet?
Maybe RC got snookered into thinking he was signing the best three point shooter in the league, not the guy who had the best percentage in the league in a limited sample size. Ugh
So essentially this dude opted out so he could add another year where he's overpaid. He didn't sacrifice . Makes the MVPaddy contract look like a bargain.
:
There is no reasonable explanation for this. Unless his agent went back after all the FA bigs were gone and said "we're walking unless you pay us this."
Screwing themselves next summer. $16 million for Pau Gasoft? Somewhere in the Bay Area, the GS front office is laughing their asses off.
this . I hope Kawhi leaves to teach dumb ass Pop and RC a lesson.
i am glad pau accepted this amount of money. he deserves 3 year 150 m dolar. great job.
I would rather have a 12 million dollar lifesize Shaq carboard cutout than this got. Unbelievable.
All these gots who suck off Pop and RC need to try and explain this one
Yeah, whatever happened to Mel_13 anyways?
Maybe the spurs will trade him in a year and half in and get Belinelli back.![]()
maybe they thought they were signing Marc Gasol.
ing idiots... Will be fun seeing Kawhi off this boat.
Bidding against themselves.![]()
The amount ofneeded to make this contract sound like a good thing would cause the Earth to rotate the other direction. Let's see who's going to bat first.
AGAIN. First Patty now this![]()
Spurs deserve to have that ostrich er tear his ACL in game 1 and get saddled with his ty contract. PATFO are having the worst offseason in NBA history...
Had Duncan come back for one more year and literally just sat on the bench, Spurs would have been short salary needed for Pau. Would have literally been in the same spot this past year (losing to Warriors in WCF; were beating Houston regardless of Pau) and no worse off going forward.
Not in the same ballpark. The Spurs were not bidding against themselves with Patty - they overpaid to prevent a Sixers-like stupid offer from robbing him. For Pau, they literally bid against themselves. One year at $16 with a small guarantee in year two would have been enough.
