Pence, who, as head of the Trump transition team, vetted and ultimately recommended the selection of Michael Flynn as National Security Advisor.
Pence stated in interviews following Flynn’s resignation that he had no idea Flynn worked as a foreign lobbyist, or
that he had multiple contacts with Russians during both the campaign and the transition.

The Vice President’s denial has been brought into question by
Flynn’s own lawyer, who said his client told the transition team – aka Pence – about his foreign contacts, in particular his work for the Government of Turkey.
Mueller’s new interest in what the White House knew about Flynn, and when they knew it,
suggests the Vice President is now a focus of his investigation.
