    sorry for this....

Dwyane Wade: ‘Kobe Bryant is the greatest player of our era’

I do feel — and I’ve said this before the last couple of years with LeBron [James], when he became the best player in our game — that Kobe Bryant is the greatest player of our era,” Wade said. “The Kobe Bryants aren’t around no more. There are good young players, but there will never be another Kobe. So every opportunity you get to [face him], you want to seize that moment.”

Dirk: Kobe 'greatest player in my generation'
Dirk went in deep: (no )

“He’s probably the greatest player in my generation that I played against,” said Nowitzki, who has 27,239 career points and will likely pass Elvin Hayes and Moses Malone over the next few weeks to move up to seventh on the list. “Obviously Shaq was very dominant, Tim Duncan was great, but I just loved watching Kobe. I don’t think there will ever be another MJ, but he’s definitely as close as it gets that we’ll ever see.

“He had it all. He’s a clutch player, can make shots from anywhere. I’ve had a blast from watching him during his career very closely. That’s a heck of an accomplishment for sure.”

    Kobe with the Collusion.....LOL

In the visitor’s locker room inside Oracle Arena a short time after hitting one of the biggest shots in NBA history to win the NBA Finals for the Cleveland Cavaliers last June, Kyrie Irving pulled out his phone. He didn’t use it to take a picture of the celebration unfolding around him, or to call a family member.

Instead, he called Kobe Bryant. In fact, he FaceTimed him.

It was a moment Irving had to share with his idol, the future Hall of Famer who has befriended the young guard during his early years in the NBA. And now that Irving has thrust himself squarely into the middle of the NBA rumor mill for some time to come thanks to telling Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert he wishes to be traded, it’s easy to see how Bryant’s influence has shaped him.

    Kevin Durant:

"I did idolize Kobe Bryant. I studied him, wanted to be like him. He was our Michael Jordan. I watched Michael toward the end of his career with the Wizards and I seen that's what Kobe emerged as the guy for us. I've been disappointed this year because you guys (media) treated him like s***. He's a legend and all I hear is about how bad he's playing, how bad he's shooting, time for him to hang it up. You guys treated one of our legends like s*** and I didn't really like it.

"Hopefully now you can start being nice to him now that he decided to retire after this year. It was sad the way he was getting treated. He had just an amazing career, a guy who changed the game for me as a player mentally and physically. Means so much to the game of basketball. Someone I'm always gonna look to advice for anything. Just a brilliant, brilliant, intelligent man. Sad to see him go. He put his mark on the game."

    Derick Rose:

Kobe, he's someone that I've looked up to ever since I came into the league. Someone that always gave me advice about my game, just coming into the league. He's seen how hard I worked and for him and all his accolades and his résumé ... I think that he's leaving the game in some good hands. Kobe is going to be a legend no matter what. He's our [generation's] Michael Jordan.

Kobe's top players: Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Clyde Drexler.

Kobe gives his assessment of Bruce Bowen and Kawhi Leonard after Pop asks Kobe to mentor Kiwi Fruit. LOL

It's very difficult to give you a very intelligent … I could give you a BS answer but it's hard to make that comparison. I saw Bruce so many times. Kawhi I've only played against one-and-a-half times and nothing at a really high level of a matchup. So it's very hard for me to compare the two. From what I see on TV Bruce uses length a lot more. He was kind of in and out, tapping the arms and trying to break your rhythm, things of that nature. Kawhi tends to use his body a lot more and plays position a lot more. But they both have phenomenal hands.
for the record..Kiwi fruit would have gotten torched by a prime Kobe far worse than the abuse that Bowen was forced to endure from Kobe

^ ohhh does the baby feel better now.... still have nightmares of Kobe ing yall down?

FACTS - Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom will not make the hall of fame....in fact they're not all star players. Pussy Gasol will barely and I mean barely make it. Don't forget he was literally like 0-19 in playoffs without Kobe. Meaning prior to the Lakers and when Kobe tore his achilles Pussy Gasol FAILED TO WIN A SINGLE GAME ON HIS OWN now....how do you like dem apples boy. Loaded front line my ass....Kobe went back to back no Shaq with Pussy Gasoft. Back to Back no Shaq. Do you know how hard it is to win back to back les? No? Let me help you out. LMAO...The Spurs have 5 les and NOT ONCE were they ever good enough or capable to win back to back.....but guess what....Kobe went back to back NO SHAQ. ..I know for a fact this makes you pussy boys so angry and frustrated so being the kind hearted that I am I will repeat.....Kobe went BACK to BACK no SHAQ. Tammy s has never done something as difficult and Kobe did it in a loaded Western Conference...So let me speak on behalf of Kobe and say: " Go ahead be mad and also Suck my mutha ing ."
B2b is extremely hard because it means that you are likely not over reliant on one player/style of play as injuries, matchups, consistency of play plays a huge role in championships. Some of the best teams of all time never repeated, 86 Celtics, 72 lakers, wilt 6ers, 83 sixers. To say a player won b2b as the sole reason shows your ignorance. The only other possibility is that the team gets lucky, like how the Warriors had been the last few years with injuries to opponents.

Teams that won multiple championships over a long period of time like the Spurs did means that there are components that are consistently championship winning, but they need breaks.

Kobe has proven to be the type of player who has shown over and over that he cannot lead teams to any type of success without a strong frontline. The reason is that he needs the players in the low post to clean up his missed shots, and either set screens or attract defensive attention away from him for him to shoot. It is a shame that you can be watching him for 20 years without realizing it.

of course I had to include the greatest white player of all time and in my view LArry Bird is better than Lebron to be honest.

Bird, now the Pacers president of basketball operations, added, "If you want to have fun, like I did with Bill Walton, play with LeBron. It would have probably been more fun to play with LeBron, but if you want to win and win and win, it's Kobe. Not that LeBron's not a winner, just that (Kobe's) mindset is to go into every practice, every game, to get better."

Ifs and buts if cir stances were different don't carry any weight since they have no basis in fact. Players are judged on what they did, not what they might have been able to do if life had dealt them a better hand.

Kobe sealed the deal > Pierce and Wade when he went to the finals three times and won back to back with Gasol who had never won a playoff game.

Pierce had Garnett and Allen who were still at an all-star caliber at that stage of their careers and only managed one.

Wade had Bosh, who was equivalent to Gasol, and an all-time top 10 player in his prime, and got the same two that Kobe won when Wade had far more talent around him.
I agree that's why I said Kobe undoubtedly had the best career of the three.

I can't though, understand how laker fans can consistently underrate the gasol, odom,Bynum front line. That is a monster frontline that can pass, facilitate, score and defend. It was extremely versatile and while it certainly isn't as good as the bird,Celtics, mchale frontline or other monster frontlines in NBA history, it is the type of frontline that is ridiculously difficult to handle. It is difficult for the opposition to score over three long inside players and difficult to defend on the other end eight these players seeing over the defense and whipping passes above their heads.

Wade had bosh. He wasn't as good as gasol during those b2b years. He didn't even have any other frontline player other than bosh that's on the same caliber as Bynum, let alone odom. Sure he's got lebron though.

Garnett was way past his prime with the Celtics, still all star caliber for sure, but he's about gasol level. Allen is the other extremely overrated player in the 00s. Besides, we are talking about frontlines. Finally, the Celtics got unlucky breaks with injuries and a mysterious 20 fta disparity against them in game 7. They played even throughout the series but then suddenly, they just mysteriously start fouling on every single playe. Weird.

    Getting outscored by Bruce Bowen
Spreading rumours about the Spurs asking him to train kawhi, then kawhi came out to flat out say he didn't asked to be mentored nor was he mentored.

Kobe did the retirement tour purely to stroke his own ego and the players went along. He's undoubtedly bankable, and NBA doing better is good for all of them. Saying Kobe is the best is like saying the dying kid in the hospital is he best classmate I ever had and the most generous person ever. Only someone as guillable as you would fall for it. Besides, which former player became a great GM?

MJ is one of the worst talent evaluators ever. Bird sucked as a GM. West was the unicorn. He also decided not to move up to draft Kobe and only did the trade to get cap room for shaq.

Players prefer Kobe. Lol. They love embarrassing him in the last few years.

And shooting 39% and scoring 17 Opg against Leonard. .
