Most of the photo worthy damage I have seen pictures of is poorly constructed stuff in Rockport. But a significant number of homes will have water damage. The boats in
Little Bay in Rockport did surprisingly well imo given what Storm chaser Jeff showed us in his travels last night. But some better built stuff did get destroyed. Random stuff these things.
Making predictions on the heavy side is the safe thing to do for local governments (and good press) but sometimes has the opposite "that was nothing" effect. Then a bunch of people get whacked in a seemingly minor cold front that spawns tornadoes.
Glad I don't have to make the calls. The mayor of Corpus did not issue a mandatory evacuation and it looks like a good decision. They also had transport ready to SA for hospitals in Corpus.

That's what the images showed. The explanation of that from a meteorologist was that it meant the storm would likely linger in that area, since there was no prevailing path. Dude even said "the models just don't know, no idea, which means it will sit right here and that's bad".
Rain picking up again.
