Sucks. No power water or electricty in my little home town for 1 to two weeks. They were in its direct path then the eye wall stalled there for about 4 hours smh tons of damage.
Dang, sorry to hear that, you evacuated?

Same, just been a rainy weekend in Austin basically. Kind of relaxing, really...good excuse to not do anything. A lot of people have lost power, but that's about the worst of it.

Still, looking at the devastation along the coast and in Houston, feel pretty glad that we are so far inland.

No doubt they got ed up pretty bad down there, but the amount of expectation for the same here was a bit ridiculous. I was expect the high winds and everything. Instead it just seemed like a regular storm with regular wind. I don't know, I guess that growing up in tornado alley kind of raised my expectations of storms I suppose.

It wasn't ridiculous, it's just that hurricane paths are so hard to predict. The projected path had Harvey getting to parts of SA and stalling to a crawl there the way it is in Houston right now. So minus the overflowing bayous, we could've easily seen similar things to what they are seeing right now. Luckily for us (and unfortunately for them) Harvey started shifting east before it got here.

Agreed. Same here. Feel bad for the folks in Houston and along the Gulf Coast.

I hope Haren's (no d intentional) bar didn't get hit too hard.

    Sorry needed some levity....

Yeah it was scary Saturday morning when the hurricane was headed due northwest towards San Antonio. If that er stalled near say Floresville or Pleasanton instead of Cuero we'd have gotten ed by outer eyewall and probably have 15 inches like Gonzales.

The South and East sides would have been a mess if it had stalled over SA. ATT would be a refugee camp

Yeah, I'm on the SE side. Literally 10-15 minutes from Floresville. I wouldve gotten ed so bad if it's projected path wouldve held.

Olsteen is such a ing hack. Already couldn't stand that clown, but after today he is the biggest piece of in America. This guy has a net worth of over $50M and a state of the art arena that seats 17,000 but could hold far more, and all this money-grubbing con-artist does is say that he'll pray for victims. Preaches all day about being "Christ-like" and helping others and yada yada and when the moment comes to do so, he completely turns his back on the people who have made him insanely rich. What a sad sack of tbh.
