Was there really anyone who knew much about boxing at all that. A guy in his first professional boxing match was going to beat a legend who was 49 + 0? I thought he stood a decent puncher's chance having a few wins by knockout as an MMA fighter and being the bigger man but there was Zero expectation that he would win I just thought he might get lucky in Mayweather might be old and slow.

honestly happy Floyd won. The amount of I talked and coworkers I told that Conor had 0 chance and they told me I'm gonna laugh so hard when Conor knocks Floyd t f out...I would have to find a new place to work cleaning piss pans. But seriously let's give Conor credit...he went from food stamps just 4 years ago to this...congrats because anyone that' follows mma knows Mcgregor is really good but he's not even close to the best mma fighters of all time.

The white guys at my job have not even mentioned the fight since Connor lost. All the black dudes and hispanics run 15 min conversations about it. One hispanic dude recorded the fight and has watched it 6 times.

Most of the white people here were on Money's team, tbh. Not sure why everybody wants to make the fight about race
Most whiteys who did wager profited off of Money.
    So "disappointment" LOL.

When OP is old enough to wager he will learn this.

I've done a lot of betting, but not yet on boxing (not for a high profile fight, anyways). Retrospectively, I can see how the smart money was on LLoyd. I know a few gamblers who probably banked on this fight even with the bad odds; definitely easy money. Wish I had been able to make it out to Vegas; I think my head would have beat my heart, and I would have made some $ on this. But I wasn't prepared to bet a whole lot, so just as well.

He did look old and slow. This should had been over in 5 tops. The fact McGregor was able to almost take it the distance tells you something about Floyd and his current skill set.

Mayweather doesn't have power. As long as he wasn't fighting a total novice who just walked into power punches he wasn't going to knock out anyone in the last decade and before that I wasn't aware enough of the guy to care... He's been a points boxer who got wins by being defensive and scoring a bunch of tap jabs.

He did look slower but not so much so that I would write him out of possibly taking another match if it looked like big money and he was reasonably sure of winning.
