Member of Duma admits ‘Russian intelligence stole the president of the United States’ on live TV
Writing on Axios, Becca Rotenberg said the comments were made by Vyacheslav Nikonov on the Russian TV show, “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov.”
According to Julia Davis, writing on Twitter, “#Russia‘s state TV mocks American intelligence services: MP Vyacheslav Nikonov says
U.S. spies slept while Russia elected a U.S. President.”
Clarifying the comment, Nikonov reportedly blurted U.S. “intelligence missed it when Russian intelligence stole the president of the United States.”
The Hill notes that the panel Nikonov was participating on focused on the diminishing power of the United States on the world stage.

“Due to the town of Twin Falls, Idaho, becoming a center of refugee resettlement, which led to the huge upsurge of violence towards American citizens, it is crucial to draw society’s attention to this problem … “Russian operatives hiding behind false iden ies used Facebook’s event management tool to remotely organize and promote political protests in the U.S., including an August 2016 anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim rally in Idaho, The Daily Beast has learned. […]
The Facebook events—one of which echoed Islamophobic conspiracy theories pushed by pro-Trump media outlets—are the first indication that the Kremlin’s attempts to shape America’s political discourse moved beyond fake news and led unwitting Americans into specific real-life action.
“This is the next step,” Clint Watts, a former FBI agent and expert on Russia’s influence campaign, told The Daily Beast. “The objective of influence is to create behavior change. The simplest behavior is to have someone disseminate propaganda that Russia created and seeded. The second part of behavior influence is when you can get people to physically do something.”
DAMN.
Just … DAMN.
The event host was called “SecuredBorders,” and it was a Russian front. On top of the Alex Jones exclusives on the Great Idaho Refugee Yogurt Rapes that led up to the event, the Daily Beast notes that Dead Breitbart also wrote many “news” blog posts about the Idaho situation. Dead Breitbart has not yet apologized to yogurt.
NOW do people see why Robert Mueller is investigating Breitbart and InfoWars and looking into Russian bots and Russian military intelligence buying Facebook ads and all that hullabaloo? Because is real and an enemy nation literally was (and is) all up in our American business, inciting far right racists and pushing fake Hillary news to Bernie supporters, to sow loathing (it worked!) and install their puppet in the White House.
In related news, the FBI is reportedly investigating the Russian state-owned Sputnik media organization, to see if it was working directly for the Kremlin as part of Russia’s disinformation campaign during the election. We have a feeling we are just barely starting to scratch the surface of the Russian digital operation that helped sway the election in the unqualified orange seed’s direction.
Of course, Mueller is also probing First Son-In-Law Prince Jared Kushner’s role in the Trump-Russia conspiracy. Kushner oversaw the Trump campaign’s digital operation, and he met with a metric load of Russians during the campaign and the transition too. How odd! Wonder if that has anything to do with why some of Donald Trump’s lawyers reportedly wanted Kushner to quit his White House job because of his role in the Russia investigation.
Is it possible these things are all connected?

Chris, how long do you think these kinds of investigations take?
I'm just waiting for something tangible, preferably plausible as well.
He's like a crazed OCD sexual, who can't resist jumping at any that comes his way to him next. He's obsessed and can't resist responding long enough to log out for good. Everyone else has moved on pretty much.
You didn't answer the question. How long do you think these kinds of investigations take?
Again...nothing better to do. At all. He doesn't lead a busy life. Lots of spare time. Idle hands.
He asks questions that asshats can't answer.
Generally if he has to go two or three times without getting an answer that is a huge red flag that someone is making a dishonest argument.
Seems fairly useful, IMO.

Russia probes pose loyalty test for Team Trump
Current and former White House aides caught up in the probe are being advised by their attorneys to tell the truth – even if that might hurt the president.
Lawyers representing Donald Trump’s current and former aides are giving their clients one simple piece of advice: Don’t lie to protect the president.
As special counsel Robert Mueller and congressional investigators prepare to question high-ranking aides — including Hope Hicks, Reince Priebus and Sean er — in the coming weeks, Trump’s long history of demanding his employees’ complete loyalty is being put to the test.
But Trump stalwarts know the president is closely following the media coverage of the Russia case — and the last thing they want is to be deemed a turncoat whose answers end up becoming further fuel for investigators.
Several of the lawyers representing current and former aides told POLITICO they’re actively warning their clients that any bonds connecting them to Trump won’t protect them from criminal charges if federal prosecutors can nail them for perjury, making false statements or obstruction of justice.
“What I always tell clients is you can’t protect anybody. You can only hurt yourself,”
said a lawyer representing a client involved in the Russia probe. The attorney added that any overt attempts to protect Trump will raise wider su ions of a cover-up, making matters “worse for everybody.”
“Efforts to concoct a story to protect somebody are almost inevitably doomed to failure,”
the attorney explained.
“All you do is create liability to yourself that didn’t exist before.”

Trump’s Press Secretary Just Urged The Justice Department To Prosecute Fired FBI Director Comey
the White House is ramping up its war of words to discredit Comey, charging that he needs to be investigated and possibly punished.
Responding to a question about former White House Chief Strategist Steven Bannon’s insistence on 60 Minutes that Trump’s firing of Comey was a huge mistake, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said today that in light of new revelations,
the President stands firmly behind his decision to fire the FBI Director.
“Since the director’s firing,” said Sanders, according to Fox News, “we’ve learned new information about his conduct that only provided further justification for that firing.”
Sanders charged Comey gave “false testimony” to Congress, which is perjury, but said it is not the president’s role or her job to investigate whether he broke the law by leaking classified information and giving false testimony before Congress while under oath.
“That’s the job of the Department of Justice,” said Sanders, “and something they should certainly look at.”
Sanders was asked if the White House wanted to see Comey investigated.
In an obvious effort to discredit Comey and justify his firing, the White House has previously charged that the former FBI Director acted illegally when he had a friend share memos about conversations with Trump with the New York Times, as he acknowledged in July in testimony before Congress.
“I think if there’s ever a moment where we feel someone’s broken the law,” answered Sanders, “particularly if they’re the head of the FBI, I think that’s something that certainly should be looked at.”
This is all part of an
ongoing White House campaign to justify the firing of Comey and discredit him in advance of any actions by Mueller
to claim the firing was really an obstruction of justice by the president out of fear of the Russia investigation.
This drumbeat of su ion which Trump wants to
plant that Comey is the real criminal is going to continue,
but the reality is that like the investigation into Secretary Clinton’s private email server,
it is just a distraction.
