The drive with 5 min left and the defense has me feeling good.

The special teams and the D during the last 45 sec, which is like Big 12 play... Not good at all. I'm still worried about the Big 12 offenses that give you no time to rest. USC tried to ram the ball down our throats and it did not work. They dropped some big passes. When they went quickly they gained yardage. I wish we played in the PAC 12 after this viewing.

The offensive line, now possibly minus Connor... Someone might get killed in the backfield.

Long, long way to go. Tons of mistakes. Snap coordination, Oline moving... But physically we made huge gains on D compared to the Maryland game. Running QBs that can pass may still give us trouble though. Ok St and OU might be USC pumped up when they hurried to move the ball in the last 45 seconds and before the half.

That game was exhausting. I'm very tired, took some shots to the head.

Some of you try to make it sound like a moral victory. Ask Charlie about moral victories. If you are keeping drug dealers on the team, then the big spenders want only 1 thing... wins. They want a #1 in the tower. I'm not raining on any parade, because you don't parade after a loss. They could lose every game by 3 in double overtime. It. is. still. a. loss. And eyes will be opened if that continues. The talent is there. We should finish with a winning season.

Too many mistakes on offense, and as great as the defense was, the last minute of each half and the first play of OT was hot garbage. This was something to build on though.

BTW, why in the did Warren get minimal carries again, meanwhile Porter, who can't run through a paper bag, gets more carries. It was veey frustrating.

It's hindsight but I didn't understand why they didn't go with their 250 RB on the Ehlinger fumble play.

says a lot about our OL when coaches rather have an extra blocker than running it with a RB.

Its a big L but it's still must be examined on a sports board.

And disagree about the talent. Our offensive line looks bad and we have no TE. That's a fairly fundamental zero. Our O tackles that played showed severe lack of mobility, horrible stuff. The depth here appears to be non existent. We are not near a big time program. It appears We are not bringing in talented reserves.

I really think our drug dealer TE reserve situation should have been squarely addressed. But coaches can hide behind the "it's really not helpful to air a high schooler's misdemeanor charges that have been resolved" The lack of investigative reporting concerning the actual charge is interesting. We are in the dark concerning the situation, quite possibly due to age, and or privilege.

More thoughts. PJ Locke, who looked lost before, finally made some plays. Jones looks like the weaker of the two safeties. Malik draft status just went way up. He is as fast as any linebacker we have ever had IMO.

I think some you are minimizing the loss of Williams. Yes we lack overall depth but in our situation when Williams goes down you have his replacement come in and that becomes your weak link. In this case Nickelson is forced to cross cover for Williams and Okafor steps in for T. Nic. This is not ideal at all. Nickelson is already the weak link on our starting line and then you ask him to fill in the most important role. Okafor a backup then has to cover RT. A loss of one starter becomes 2 players out of position trying to protect a freshman. Also a bad situation was his and Shacks inability to connect throughout the game, I imagine from their lack of chemistry. Shack and Shane never had these issues. uva game.

So we lack depth at tackle. It's a very difficult position. USC also had some D line guys missing after the Stanford game.

Another observation. Porter is a much better pass blocker than Warren. If Warren expects to be a pro at RB he has to show vast improvement in this area IMO.

We should know the result on Monday.

Does this have any bearing if we get him for another year?

Will the pros want to see more... will this possibly hurt his draft ratings?

He's gone. He's a first round pick. There's nothing left for him to prove.

I great move by these teams. LA doesnt give a crap about those teams. St. Louis and San Diego do.
