In all fairness, the late Depressionary and early Baby Boomer generations in American were/are the heaviest cigarette smoking generation groups in mankind's history.
You'll see average life expectancy e into the 90s in 20-25 years or so after the smoking rate falls below 3% nationally... right now around 2/5 of the nation still smokes
