WTF does this have to do with the US Treasury?

Why should Trump care about this at all?

The NFL players aren't saying a word. Ultimately, employers can make decisions regarding that. I don't understand why people think it's a specifically partisan protest. I think police shootings in general are dangerously underreported. Nobody can give any reliable statistics on them because no one is required to record them. That alone is good enough reason to protest.

Great. Now you know such people exist.
You did say expressing an opinion - they are expressing an opinion by kneeling.

Yep. It's pretty much one of the more respectful, nonpartisan protests I can recall. the employers can discipline the players if they wish (as defined by their contracts and collective agreements) but why? Why is it so upsetting to anyone?

President Donald Trump’s director of legislative affairs charged Sunday the NBA champion Golden State Warriors were the first to politicize a White House visit that has now erupted into a sports world firestorm.

In an interview on NBC News’ "Meet The Press," Marc Short said Trump "is standing with a vast majority of people who think our flag should be respected."

Trump rescinded a White House invitation to Warriors star Stephen Curry after he indicated he wouldn’t attend with teammates. Trump vented his rage at NFL owners who wouldn’t fire players who were part of any on-field protest of racial injustice.

Why are they even talking about this? What does it matter to the Trump administration?

It's easier to say "no comment" and get on with the business of governing the USA.

Nah man, Trump has shown it's easier to fan the flames of the right wing outrage of the day than it is to give a and govern the USA.

A defiant President Trump said Sunday afternoon that the outrage over NFL players kneeling during the national anthem "has nothing to do with race," but rather is about "respect for our country."

How is silently taking a knee disrespectful? It's one of the more respectful protests I have seen.

For me, it's just the general disrespect for the flag/anthem/country - all this anti-American feeling. America is not a perfect country, but imo, it is still the best place to live, the place with the greatest freedoms, the most opportunity, second chances, etc. People don't appreciate how good they have it here. They whine and complain about everything - get upset over every little slight, etc and not count their blessings. In other countries, there is real poverty, big problems, no safety net, etc. but people who are fortunate enough to live here not only take it for granted but actively hate the country.

Yeah, I still don't see how kneeling silently is disrespectful. If people just counted their blessings because they lived in the US and shut up about everything you wouldn't be able to vote.

For me it's just about keeping the conservative base motivated for the midterms so we don't get a blue wave election. Democrats thankfully are more than willing to play along.

It's funny how important symbols are to the left unless it's the US flag then it's why get upset over a symbol.
