Watch his game go to coming here par the course.
He was pretty much last year so I'm not expecting an improvement. He still an upgrade over Simmons though.

Surprised the Rockets aren't mentioned, even though I think that'd be a poor fit.

    Can the Rockets sign him?
It wouldn't surprise me if Houston is runner up to Cleveland by the end of the night.

Can someone besides RC go negotiate? He's struck out far more than hit.

I would be very surprised if he's not negotiating with Pop when he speaks with players/agents.

I mean just Gay/LMA alone recently we've seen Pops involvement. These guys have their reasons for not wanting to play in SA.

RC isn't smart enough to be a standalone GM. Pop is holding his hand on just about every major development regarding the Spurs. In regards to not wanting to play in San Antonio, I didn't realize Minnesota and OKC were NBA hotbeds and had so much more to offer free agents until now.

I think it's going to come out at some point that Pop and RC are related.

Who chose Minnesota and OKC? Butler/PG were traded there.

And Melo probably has a relationship with WB via Jordan brand, and played in the Olympics with both WB/PG.

Guys choose to go where they have their buddies and people they're comfortable with, it's not always about going to the team where u have a legit shot to win, a HOF coach, or a winning /stable organization.

He did not "suck" last year as some posters have stated. He's well past his prime but can still be a high usage guy with a positive contribution. One thing on offense he can't do is shoot from the perimeter, which is why I don't love him as a fit. But he can certainly take some load off of Manu if he were to come here while Parker is out / recovering.

For everyone who longed for keeping Simmons, Wade brings way more to the table assuming he doesn't fall off a cliff.

Did Miami make things okay with him? Or is he still pissed?

Wade would be a good player for the Spurs. Even though he can't shoot threes, he can still get his own shot off the dribble. He would be a huge signing. But a las, he's not coming to SA.

I think he's ok with Miami, and will probably finish his career there. But to go there now doesn't make much sense for him considering they aren't really contenders. Tho they can offer him the most $

In today's NBA, players dictate where they're traded. Butler was interested in the T-Wolves before the trade, PG gave his blessing but didn't give a commitment and Anthony waived his NTC. I get that Kawhi Leonard is a recluse and that he doesn't have the backbone to help recruit for his team, but that just places the onus on the GM to go out and get the damn job done (Ie. Morley, Presti, Singe, Layden) rather than drafting/stockpiling untradeable assets all while settling for scrubs, euro tidbits and has beens and paying them gross money..

And I firmly believe that players that choose to play with friends don't do so without the intention and belief they can win a championship. HOF coaches and winning stable organizations are nice but certainly not a requirement (Ie. Cleveland).

He was a net negative on the court and had a .90 WS/48 last year.

He was forcing it a lot last year. His role would be diminished here allowing him to contribute without becoming a detriment to the team. He'd still need the ball, of course, but the Spurs love their ball dominant guards (TP/Manu).

Either way, he's not coming. He's joining his butt buddy on Cleveland, or he's going to mail it in and collect his check in Miami.

Rumors of Wade to CLE came before or after the Kyrie trade? Because it seems it would be in the best interest of Wade (right now)and Lebron (next season)to both join the Spurs. Yeehh

Spurs might have a better chance than people think. I remember back in 2004 and 2005 D-Wade gave Pop a lot of credit for helping him improve his game. He said Pop taught him a lot when he was on that Olympic team. If the Spurs are actually interested, Pop's going to have to do the recruiting. RC can sit this one out.

I don't think it will happen, though, as D-Wade has changed a lot since then and he's likely to buddy up, but D-Wade definitely knows Pop and has worked with him before, so I don't think it's just lip service with the Spurs being mentioned this time around.

Clear favorite is Cleveland since they have a great chance of reaching the finals along with his friendship with LBJ. Spurs are a legit 2nd due to Wade and Pop's mutual respect and admiration for one another. His scoring and playmaking off the bench would be a welcome edition as he would be able to play point much better than Patty. A bench of Wade, Gino, Patty, Gay, and Lauvergne would be very good.

TGY is already gearing up to post Wade's picture in a clip art post to make fun of PATFO.
