man, ST has more speculation than one year on wall street. it's the go to fallacy in these parts.
I think the Simms thing depends on where and how you look at it, and depends on expectations and things that were said of which we don't know about. He was disappointed the Spurs didn't make him an offer and it is true the Spurs gave him an opportunity for which he was grateful and said so... great organization to start a career with, but that contract wasn't gifted to him but earned of his own effort. I do think he was disappointed that he didn't get an offer from the Spurs, nor did he get as much as he thought he would... that was out of his and Spurs control the market just changed suddenly... but it wasn't just him. It was Hanga, Shabazz his friend, Jamychal Green who the Grizz started all season and then didn't want to pay him... etc.. I am not saying this is the Spurs, but its a general picture he has. He said you can't believe what others tells you, which means to me that until the time comes that there is a contract before you to sign, you really can't believe someone telling you "they love you" or stuff of that nature. It's "show me the money". At least that was how I understood what he said... which is basically cryptic, but it's not solely about the Spurs but the NBA as a business.
He sho' shriveled quick when asked though, eh?
Damn boi...
Who are you referring to when you say "Shabazz his friend"?
Shabazz Mohammed former UCLA teammate. Him and Kyle are still close. Shabazz didn't get the offers he wanted from Minnesota (I can't blame them they have some guys they have to pay), apparently he was told that he would get offers from Los Angeles Lakers if he could get Minny to rescind their QO and if he was an UFA and he didn't get what he was offered. He was forced to sign back for the minimum with Minnesota after he didn't get offers and the market dried up. There are versions of it, but he was misled. He also took a risk in betting on himself for sure. Anyways, that's who I meant.
Thanks for the explanation. I thought you were referring to a friend of Simmons' that's why I got confused at who you meant. If I knew you were referring to Kyle, then I would have been able to work that out through the UCLA connection.
Hope to see them in Austin
Guess we are going all in with the guard patrol this season. Still would've like to see Brimah's length on the team, even though he is incredibly raw.
It's fine. We have that stiff, Costello.
