Aldridge easily outplayed a dude this board ed over this summer, Paul Millsap, a guy who is 32 and just signed a multi-year megadeal.

Let me add... I think the new gameplan is going to be more hustle to the front court by the bigs, especially Aldridge to gain low post position and he's to be the 1st option, if he succeeds upon gaining said position.
If he don't make it- Kawhi is 1st option and go from there.
If he does- it's on LA to either eat, or try to feed Kawhi 1st then look for who's open, if Kawhi's smothered.

Good catch. If Danny can keeping playing that well off Aldridge he will have a resurgence.

A guy who also scored 32 on him in Atlanta last season.

That's exactly what LMA told Michael Wright from ESPN this preseason.

If he don't make it- Kawhi is 1st option and go from there.
If he does- it's on LA to either eat, or try to feed Kawhi 1st then look for who's open, if Kawhi's smothered.
LMA's scoring didn't decrease with Kawhi on court last season so IDK why he cried that much... 17.3 ppg with Kawhi 17 ppg w/o Kawhi

But after all this drama, I agree that Pop will change the way to initiate the offense to benefit LMA in the post.

Well, I have a different perspective on this. A Spurs player saying he was "unhappy" because he felt he was being underused, wasn't the focus of offense, didn't make the ASG, isn't positive.

But I'm fine with other fans thinking it's good.

Edit: Also, this isn't just about "Spurs players don't care about stats", this is specifically about LMA's personality.

I can't imagine Bosh telling Spo he was unhappy because he was underutilized...He was willing to be a complementary -suplementary most times- piece. LMA will never be that guy. That's an issue.

I'm happy he spoke up because now based on that article they might utilize him properly. Can't wait to see lma run hard and get into some deep post position. You can't start from midrange if you can't dribble and lma can't dribble. Plus we don't have the off ball players that can just run around like draymond tbh. Also love that Pop told him to work on his 3pt shot. Spread the court and the look for opportunities to duck in and get in great position. Plus minimize the midrange shot at least somewhat.

Can't wait to watch small ball with gay at 4 and a shooting pg/g. Having so much space around kawhi will be amazing.

can't take much away from this... preseason teams really aren't even trying. Only guys who may get the ax really try.
Same thing can be said for players who get most of theirs during garbage time in the regular season/playoffs.

Indeed, but preseason games don't even count for anything other than the coaches doing their experiments and seeing the marginal talents with more minutes, etc. Even holding a lead in garbage time is a real task and playing against another team's regular players in a loss shows who can compete. I am not among those who dismisses things of that nature. In preseason there's just a lot of marginal talent and experiments playing. It's a good sign, but at the same time, can't put that much stock in it.

. If he had been mediocre I wouldn't have mentioned it, but he was SOooooo bad. He still definitely needed to put in more work. I never said his issues weren't fixable but they hadn't been fixed.
