i would agree that the support for something similar to a crime bill or a welfare reform act would likely falter but the reason why i would balk at calling them progressive is because they would stop short of creating the sort of systemic economic and social reforms that are necessary in regards to creating greater economic equality. that and they continue to support neocon foreign policy.
