Hmm, back in the day, George Hill, Malik Hairston and DeJuan Blair apparently sat down and talked with each other about how they were going to be the future of the Spurs. That didn't end up working out for them, obviously. I don't know if Anderson had that same expectation maybe with Simmons, Murray, Davis and whatnot. Maybe Simmons being let go was his first real wake-up call on that end. You don't just matriculate into vet status just because you're young. Getting better, grabbing a rotation spot, those are things that take more than time. It's about seizing your moment, not waiting your turn.
