First game thread of the season. Quick turnaround for us. Winnable home game against a 5-3 Hornets team. Let's get this one.

I couldn't watch this team without Tim and now I can't watch them without Kawhi.

Even when Tim missed games, Spurs had legit star power in Manu and Tony who stepped up and were fun to watch running that team as Tim got older and couldn't provide the scoring punch night in, night out. The much maligned Parker was an absolute workhorse for the team in the regular season between 2009-2013. It was down to him to get us that +20 points on solid efficiency every night and set up the shooters around off defense breakdowns he initiates unlike the unwatchable predictability that is of LMA going 8-24 while taking the L in process..

The LMA bricking is a false narrative currently. He was shooting about 50 % through 7 games and about 48% now. How short sided Some Spurfan is to make a point. Boston has the best defensive rating if I'm not mistaken and GS has Draymond, last year's DPOY. LMA actually been blistering for the most part. People forget so soon instead mocking him like theirs a better option on the roster.

Game won't even be close. Aldridge will foul out in the 4th and Dwight will laugh at him from the scorer's table. Kemba breaks Kyrie's scoring record at the ATT Center. Pop gets ejected and the headless chickens take over the team. Derrick White will turn 42 years old.

    Hornets 119
    Spurs 81

Hornets are tough this season. They look like they'll make the playoffs in the weak east. Dwight Howard has actually been quite effective for them.

The Spurs have to find a way to shut down Kemba Walker, period!

Howard and frank the tank have been a formidable force collectively this year. This could be another loss.

Kemba, Frank, Dwight, and Malik Monk off the bench have been their best players. Need to contain their backcourt and we should be alright.

Hornets by 8-10. I just don't see this team winning many more games til Kawhi gets back (if he does). Too many deadweights on the roster.

You know you're playing defense when the Lakers are ahead of you in D-rating.
