not sure if the Celtics game brandon paul was... but the game was out of reach, Pop didn't have him play in the 4th Q.
Look at the opponent and tell me with a straight face that the Hornets could be an Eastern Conference finalist. Expected win was expected.

Guess who's spamming the front page with every turd that pops in his head tonight?
Aye BillMc you were one point off
Not real pretty, but some very good developments - Bryn and 50Mills. I hope they can sustain.
MVPatty, little champ is back.![]()
Dam good win. Offense woke up.
Your criteria is confusing. Dude hit big shots, regardless of the opponent. Charlotte isn't exactly a lottery team
Ha! If he’s gonna play like this whenever I call him out I should do it more. Someone please pass the crow.
He's notorious troll who has a penchant for saying re ed things. For example last year he predicted the Grizzlies would easily take out the Spurs in the first round.
Fathead sucks, let go that bum.
He hit big shots at home against a mediocre/bad team. Wake me when he does it against a team of consequence.
Hoops Czar is just a flat out hate troll.. I don't even know why he bothers to post here...
This post has chick bait written all over it.
This team is worse than last year even with Tony and Kawhi, but it's worsened without them and with the West being better. I'll make it simpler for you:
With Kawhi and Tony (not being forced minutes he doesn't deserve): Spurs win 52 games and make the playoffs as a 5th seed.
Without Kawhi and Tony (or with Tony being forcefed minutes): Spurs win 36 games and miss the playoffs.
If the Spurs still had Simmons' and Dedmon's sheer athleticism and ability to impact the game (even inconsistent as they were) to help make up the losses of Kawhi's impact on both ends and Parker's control of the offense they could keep their heads above water longer.
Even if Kawhi comes back, if it isn't until, say, the middle of December, the Spurs could be quite a few games below .500 when generally they're 10+ games above .500 at that point.
Gay >>>> Simmons
Lauvergne about the same as Dedmon.
Green, Murray, Anderson and Forbes all better than last year.
Paul an intriguing piece.
I don't know how can anyone say, for sure, that this team is worst than last year.
You do realize that we are 5-4 without a Top 3 player in the World, our starting PG and the backup center who was being one of the Spurs best player to start the season, while playing one of the toughest schedulles so far, right?
GS, Celtics, Wolves, Raptors, Hornets, Magic, Heat. All playoffs teams.
great post.![]()
I have to agree... plus I am not a fan of Gasol, but Dedmon fell so far out of favor with Pop he was benched in the playoffs and that was that. He was also a negative factor offensively towards the latter part of the season, for whatever reason. I liked him as a bench player, but not as a starter. Too foul prone, too mistake prone, his faults got magnified with too many minutes. He would help this bench though.
I am tired of talking about JSimms. He's happy where he is... Spurs chose Manu and MIlls and that is that.
Just kill him with a bat, nobody will miss that guy, plays like Monty Burns anyway.
Dedmon was definitely better than Lauvergne especially on the defensive end. Maybe you meant David Lee. Jury's still out on Murray being better than last year. He still looks inconsistent as . We've yet to see what Parker looks like after a horrific career threatening type injury and it's anybody's guess if Kawhi will be anywhere near 100% even when he does return.
I'll give you the Dubs, Raptors, and Magic, but the rest of those teams have not been impressive and/or are playoff teams strictly because of the conference they play in. After Sunday the schedule really picks up so seeing where the team is at in a few weeks will be a much better barometer.
Regardless, the team itself has been anything but impressive on either end; if this were last year the Spurs would have won most games even without Kawhi strictly because everyone knew where to be on D while being able to generate open looks on offense. Can't say the same about this year's team.
While Gay > Simmons (which isn't a forgone conclusion if Simmons keeps up his stellar play), Lauvergne is not an improvement over Lee (nor was he at any point a top 7 player for the Spurs this season, much less top 3), and the intriguing prospects at this point are just prospects. Green is better than last year as is Forbes it seems; however, I haven't seen anything from Fathead/Murray to make me think they're better than last year so far. On top of that, you have to consider the regression of retained pieces like Gasol, Mills, Manu (age, not sucking), and even Parker when he comes back. LMA is still somewhat of a problem on the offensive end as well despite the numbers he's been putting up.
I love Dedmon and wanted to keep him, but if come playoffs time you were on the doghouse, you weren't really that important to the team, tbh.
