WE WILL SEE!
from what i saw of simmons the other day i am quite satisfied that the spurs passed on bringing him back. he will have moments, both good and bad, but i think he hit his ceiling and is nowhere near a difference maker. he'll get on sportscenter from time to time though.
WE WILL SEE!
He looked fairly impressive (considering expectations) on a 61 wins team last season, imho.
I'd take Fabricio's rotting corpse over him tbh!
Dedmon is good... He in an intimidator... Gasol was killing us in the playoffs until Dedmon came in with the demon face and plunked him for the rest of the series
and he even made one.
Rage! Rage against the dying of the light!
Averaging 7 points, 7 rebounds, and less than a block per game as a starter so far. His defensive numbers have slipped back to his Magic days (as I said they were).
Players have better defensive numbers on the Spurs and people always fall for the fool's gold. Take Gasol for example, who was terrible on that side in his last years in LA and Chicago, and now his advanced #'s rised across the board once he came here. That doesn't mean he's a good defender, he's trash. Same goes for Green and Fathead. They always get torched but the team defense hides that tremendously.
better for us than Gasol, tbh...
with non-shooters like murray getting minutes, if rather have pau's spacing tbh
Dedmon is shooting 3's at a 33% this season. Gasol at 30%.
Last year's sample is bigger and thus more meaningful. 30% with Kawhi out over 7 games isn't nearly as informative as >50% over 30+ games with Kawhi in.
The difference to me is Pau coming off the bench after the ASG last year. He can rain threes over backup centers all day.
Dedman >>>>>>> Paugina Gasolft
Dedmon has just started shooting threes. He will probably improve. That was the center to sign for the future at just 6 millions per year. Instead we got an old stiff for 10 more millions per year.
I agree, Dedmon at his price is a much better value than Pau at his. But three point shooting is probably the worst angle to base that argument on.
I only mentioned 3 pt % because a poster said that with non-shooters he would rather have Gasol's spacing, I mentioned that Dedmon is shooting better from three (and in about the same number of attempts, I might add). The sample size doesn't really matter because the non-shooters (i.e: Murray and Kyle) are only starting for a short stint at the beggining of the season, because of injuries, tbh.
19 and 12 vs the Celtics. Showing an impressive range of finishes on pick and rolls and pick and pops, including three pointers, mid range jumpers, floaters and ally-oops.
He had 15 and 7 last night vs the Cavs.
Yeah he has been playing pretty well as of late. Good for him. Hopefully he can keep it together.
It's the Culture, stupid!![]()
Pop doesn't like bigs that jump high.
Dedmons a real niggggga.
Guy can ball and has character.
Greybeard needed to get over himself a long long time ago.
So I get that a lot of former Spurs staff if with the Hawks and they play a similar system but holy crap it seems a bit incestuous.
