It wouldn't have been this close to begin with if not for that quarter they got down by 20 points with manu and Gay playing poorly. rebounding is going to be an issue if Pop plays a smaller lineup and to be fair, thunderref are letting guys get mauled bc they don't want to call the whistle on thunder's vaunted "defense"

Pop didn't play him much after he started poorly, but he was also instrumental in that 3rd quarter comeback. Plenty of blame to go around for the slow start. Manu was a big part of it, but not the only reason.

why not play DJ in late game situations? Patty isnt our future...DJ needs the experience for when playoff time comes and Tony goes missing
no we have to be grateful younger guys stepped up this game and showed heart and growth and were able to dig down deep and get this game this close.
This isn't easy nor should it be taken for granted. They have competed hard and well for the rest of the game it was that damn 1st Q.
Also, fighting through adversity is a way the team progresses and younger guys like Kyle and Davis are placed in positions they wouldn't have been otherwise and showed grit.
I can't fault this effort.
Only Manu's AARP 1st Q and the bench's out of sync play is a down in this game.
