We may all disagree on politics but we still should be thankful for being born here. Despite our flaws its still the greatest political system on earth.

Getting "kidnapped" and being brought to this country isn't why Blacks should be thankful (if they should be thankful for anything, who am I to say?), it's the blood that had to be spilled to change it so that it could be different than the country they were originally brought into.

They don't need to thank Whites. They should thank their own ancestors for spilling blood over the bull system they were brought into so that they could have equality.

& yet, still, there's a lot of prejudice & racism left to fight to make truly equal.

I've been busy shopping for dd for her "permanent" place (too bad that place is in CA :-( next year and ds who wants to live off campus. Some great deals out there. Bagged an 8 quart Instant Pot for $81.99 to replace a slow cooker I burnt - I know, only I could burn a slow cooker. In case you guys are ever shopping for a significant other, I gotta plug for Instant Pot - pressure cooker, rice cooker (gonna give ds mine - don't trust him with a pressure cooker), saute, slow cooker, even yogurt maker - all in one - will cut down significantly on cooking time.

We got one about a month ago...friggin amazing. I've made everything from a pot roast to a friggin cheese cake in that thing.
