It would obviously be with the intention of getting his Bird rights, so that they could re-sign him. Although they could work out a sign and trade in the off season, but they don't have the flexibility to sign him outright.
As much as I like watching Wall and their greater than the sum of its parts starting lineup, their sub par bench will probably cost them in a series against any of those 3. This wouldn't change the latter, but it should make the former even more formidable.
