Pushed the right buttons, went to the hot hands to close the game, was actually standing up and coaching at the end of the game, instead of browsing the latest Wine Aficionado magazine...
There's a guy that's hungry to coach and win games, tbh, not the pathetic display of a spoiled liberal child.
Time for Poop to get over himself, and step aside. Duncan isn't holding his hand anymore.
I'm sold, We should build the wall.
I’m surprised he took an assistant job, taking the backseat to Poop. Could get a head job elsewhere easily, including Memphis now..
Certainly liked his game more than previous outings
Pop stopped coaching after 2014
Let’s not get carried away. This was the Mavs. Elementary school coaches would have beat them.
Mavs had won 3 of their previous 4 games before tonight. And that one loss came against Boston in overtime.
Mavs have the GOAT coach in Carlisle, tbh
He went with Kyle in the clutch final minutes instead of Manu tbh. Kudos for that.
Might have been Borrego's influence though. I saw them conferring. I think he really wanted to put Manu back in. (That was a joke).
I wasn't particularly a fan of the coaching in this game. I thought it was the players execution winning this game... but he was better than Pop's first half of coaching.
Obviously this is a joke and this was only one game against a bad team, however, I will say that he manages his lineups well unlike Pop.
As you said, he pushed the right buttons and went with the hot hands. Pop, on the other hand, sticks to his strict rotations even when it's detrimental to the team, benches guys to prove points, or benches guys because playing them over someone else "wouldn't be fair".
I certainly prefer this aspect of his coaching over Pop, tbh.
When did OP become a troll? I think I remember somewhat serious, well thought out posts a while back.
He must have liked his foray into during the 2013 Finals.

I've had it with Pop for a while now, tbh
One thing is true
MESSINA CAN COACH
IDK...Messina is too much conservative for this league. I have doubts about his ability to adapt and adjust, he likes so much traditional lineups and playbooks.
Staying big with Pau and LMA to close a game against the Mavs is fine, after all they're the 5-16 Mavs.
But Messina could adapt his game to play the Warriors, Boston, Houston...? Staying big with Pau against GSW in the 4th seems a crazy thing but Messina lineups always have traditional Point Guards and Centers.
Piss poor take. Do you even try anymore or have you gone full parody?? Tbh?
Meh. Likely the same outcome if Pop stays. Tho him leaving did give the team a bit of a spark. The turnovers were just killer.
And most of his rotations were probably coming from Pop anyway lol
