We did, and we still do.
You gotta play your best players as much as you can tbh, and _'Antoni notoriously has short rotations. Harden and CP0 are gonna be on the court together a lot in the postseason.
We did, and we still do.
try watching the games, they are playing a ridiculously efficient offense and even better after the return of cp3
define "Challenge"? 5 games max?
OKC has 2 of 3 and where are they? CP3 yes if we don’t have to gut the whole team. But from what we can afford and they are playing the 3rd best record in the West without 2 of the starters, one of them named Kawhi? I mean, sometimes Spurs fans take for granted how good our FO is. Fu*kin genius.
The fact that we haven't seen both teams fully healthy more than once is what makes it interesting....
It's all on Pop to put the right pieces in place when compe ion is at its highest. Optimal lineup implementation is key against GS. Pop has been pretty poor with his lineups/subs utions in the exit rounds the past 3 years.
Have to hope that a combination of Warriors arrogance and Spurs pent up aggression from waiting 4 years to face them at full strength in a series and repeatedly losing big leads to them, leads to stealing game 1. From there, figure Spurs pull one out at home. Obviously, the longer it goes the more the pressure increases on them as well as the chances of significant injury (both ways, but they're long overdue).
Spurs would probably be better off matching up with them in the WCSF. Don't want to have to overcome a knockdown, drag out series vs Rockets and be worn down before facing them. Also, by then it'll have been 4 years in the making. Would like one healthy series against them just to end the speculation and see, once and for all, the exact extent of the gap.
It will depend on which team has the momentum when they face off, and which team is healthier. It will take a supreme effort to take the Warriors out...and historically the Spurs like to exhale a bit, and give their opponent an ounce of breathing room during a series before shutting the door on them, which could be disasterous against a team like the Warriors. Who knows, if the Spurs can get healthy and be hitting on all cylinders in the post season they stand at least a small chance of winning a head-to-head series...probably better than any other team in the league.
I'd like to see the Spurs at least get to the WCF to be honest. I need to see this group perform in the post season, or at least see how this regular season continues to play out. Last year's conference finals were thanks to Kawhi carrying the team and the Rockets crumbling under pressure.
Three long, 2-way players like Kawhi, Gay & Anderson is what you need to challenge them IMO. They can handle a lot of switches. By far the biggest thing though is what's going to happen to LMA when Kawhi comes back. Have seen LMA rolling to the hoop a lot more, which is more encouraging than just iso post ups.
Their shot at challenging GS is must higher given the drastic improvement of Kyle Anderson and Murrary, LMA playing better, and along with the addition of Gay. Oh, and of course Kawhi.
Not so fast. I bet if PG13 were on this roster, the media would be ranting and raving about how he revived his career. Gotta remember where these guys went to. The system man, the SYSTEM
Spurs will ring
while I agree, in this specific case, there is a matter of difference of talent (in their primes), even with an A ++ performance of Pop, perhaps it is not enough even to make a balanced series
It's likely all flight crew would die in the accident but GSW players would be ok...Without doubts they're the luckiest team in the history.
Grab a towel and wipe Curry's interracial off your face. Curry gets shut down in the playoffs regularly by defenders with length. The year he won MVP ing Iguodala outplayed him for FMVP when it mattered.
Anyway, if Rockets get the #1 seed, we'll face GSW in 2nd round.
At this point the #4 seems better than Spurs' #3.
To be fair, Aldridge had just got through his second year of being a and folding in the playoffs. And quite frankly, the jury is still out on him until he delivers post season.
Beat me to it, tbh.
I still don't understand why folks keep beating that dumb vanilla take drum.
"it takes the ball out of Harden's hands
"
"how can they co-exist?
"
"only one ball
"
Doubting the CP3/Harden/D'antoni pairing beforehand was already dumb, but still dubting it after seeing how they are playing is beyond re ed.
Only doubt with that team is CP3's health and Harden's mental for ude in the playoffs.
If we literally added someone like Kyrie Irving to our roster and lost Forbes or something GS would still be the favorites to win in a 7 game series.
You biased s are living in la la land if you think this team has a remote (> 10%) chance at winning.
If GS is a 10/10 we're a 6.5/10 at best with Kawhi playing out of his mind.
Wow. Right on homie. yee haw.
