Funny how there’s outrage about Don Jr attempting, but failing, to get dirt on Hillary from a Russian lawyer.

Meanwhile, Hillary campaign pays for fake dirt (supplied by anonymous Russians) on Trump. Meh

The "well I was gonna rob him at gun point but he didn't have any money so I just left" card.

Is amazing how little you actually know and yet you shoot your mouth off.

thinking Russians provided the dossier to Hillary.

    More Sessions style C O V E R U P

Following Don Jr. Testimony, Dem Rep Says He Has ‘Serious Case of Amnesia

one Democratic congresswoman said he has a “serious case of amnesia.”
Congresswoman Jackie Speier told CNN’s Erin Burnett that the

President’s son was “pretty non-responsive on a lot of issues that frankly you would have a recollection of, considering it was just a year ago.”

“You get the impression in listening to him,” she added, “that he didn’t spend much time talking to his father.”

Earlier tonight CNN reported that Trump Jr declined to tell the committee what he and his father discussed regarding that infamous Trump Tower meeting:

Trump Jr. did not provide further details and

invoked attorney-client privilege because of the presence of attorneys

during the exchange with his father, Schiff said…

Trump Jr. acknowledged to House investigators Wednesday that he spoke with senior White House aide Hope Hicks — and not his father — when first confronted with news reports about the Trump Tower meeting, saying they exchanged text messages, sources said.

Over on MSNBC in the previous hour, fellow House Intel Democrat Eric Swalwell said Trump Jr.

“refused to answer any questions about conversations he had with his father.”

‘They literally own him’: Wall Street expert explains how Russian banks could use Trump’s debt as leverage

“A U.S. official with knowledge of Mueller’s probe said one reason for the subpoenas was to find out whether

Deutsche Bank may have sold some of Trump’s mortgage or other loans to Russian state development bank VEB or other Russian banks

that now are under U.S. and European Union sanctions.”

To explain the details, Melber brought on Bill Cohen, the Why Wall Street Matters author who has worked with three of the largest banks on Wall St.

“If this is true, if this Reuters report is true, that a Russian bank has bought Donald Trump’s debt, that is big news,” Cohen explained.

    “That’s huge news,

because that gives a Russian bank leverage over Donald Trump. Direct leverage.”

“And then they literally own him,” Melber replied.

“Literally. Donald Trump owes a Russian bank, which has not been disclosed on any of his financial disclosure forms,” Cohen noted.

“We know Deutsche Bank is basically the only bank that will loan him money and now if they’re on-selling his debt to a Russian bank, that’s a stunning development,” Cohnen concluded.

Tell It To Clinton’s , Lindsey Graham And Jeff Sessions!

important new legal theories from the Republicans this week, starting with Donald Trump’s dumb lawyer John Dowd and his insistence that the president of the USA can’t actually obstruct justice.

The thinking goes like this: Donald Trump is the nation’s top law enforcement guy, so if Trump told James Comey not to look at the Trump campaign and transition staff’s contacts with Russia, then that’s just a law enforcer setting law enforcement priorities.

In 1999, Sessions said in an interview on C-Span,

I hope that he can rebut that and prove that did not happen. I hope he can show that he did not commit obstruction of justice and that he can complete his term. But there are serious allegations that that occurred.

Not a word about Clinton being immune there thanks to his being the nation’s top law enforcer

Sessions noted Clinton’s status as the nation’s top law enforcer. But in Sessions’s assessment at the time, that

didn’t make Clinton immune from obstructing justice; it made him even worse!

It has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt and to a moral certainty that President William Jefferson Clinton perjured himself before a federal grand jury and has persisted in a continuous pattern of lying and obstructing justice.

The chief law enforcement officer of the land, whose oath of office calls on him to preserve, protect, and defend the Cons ution, crossed the line and failed to defend and protect the law, and, in fact, attacked the law and the rights of a fellow citizen.

Lindsey Graham, who insisted that Michael Flynn’s guilty plea on a charge of lying to the FBI had no larger implications for the Trump/Russia investigation, since, Graham explained on “Face the Nation” this weekend,

“what Flynn lied about is not a crime.”

Graham didn’t try to say lying to the FBI wasn’t a crime, mind you, but the thing he lied about? No big:

I don’t think it’s wrong for a transition person to talk to a foreign government about change in policy. I don’t think the Logan Act is worth the paper it’s written on.

Now, before the election, that would be another matter, said Graham. Collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians would be very, very bad, he explained, but once Trump was elected — but not yet in office — it was probably just fine for Flynn to contact Russia to make plans for a beautiful future of peace and harmony and cooperation, also lifting sanctions, please, even if Barack Obama was technically still president.

Bill Clinton lied about something that wasn’t a crime, either, but that was serious business, which is why Graham pushed for Bill Clinton to be impeached in the House,

to prove that he was the candidate of Law And Order. At a town hall early in his reelection campaign, Graham said the point is all about asking the hard questions:

“It’s a time for the country as a whole to understand what went on here and where we’re going to go,” Mr. Graham said.

”What are the consequences of this case?

What do you do with the next Federal judge who has got wandering hands in the office

and someone’s got the courage to say, ‘No, you shouldn’t treat me that way,’ and he starts hiding evidence and getting others to lie for him —

what do we do with that case?”

Yes, Graham was talking about hypothetical sex-criming, not election-messing with a foreign government.

But now, he seems a little less worried about a president who’s hiding evidence and had people lying for him. Wonder why that might be?

You're just too blind to see what's going on right now.

    It's Trump/NSA vs FBI/CIA

One team has access to EVERYTHING---pick a winner.
I am also too blind to see they are putting mind control chemicals in chemtrails, to see how obvious it is that some invisible man in the sky is watching me masturbate, 9-11 was an inside job, etc.

I don't think you actually believe any of this. If you do, you are delusional.

Assuming you do think this is true:

Your delusions have failed, and failed consistently, to actually be comported by evidence and reality.

How much evidence do you need of that failure before you decide to abandon your delusion? What will change your mind?

And there you go. This would do it.

Trump is not worth as much as he claims, and owing hundreds of millions of dollars to the Russian government would be the leverage that would explain how Trump has been compromised.

I don't think people here think they tampered with votes. I don't bother reading all this hore though. They got Hillary's emails and posted them because Putin was mad when she interfered in his election and they used bots and paid operatives to post lies on social media. I guess some of the Trump people talked to Russians and Assange and thats on them for being stupid. Honestly, surprised they would do that. Of course Trump mentioning how much he loved wikileaks in about a thousand speeches was stupid too.

We agree this is a waste of time though Im a liberal and I hate this thread for that reason. Hillary lost mainly cause she was boring; her husband and Trump proved if you're a charismatics speaker you can overcome scandals. Better to go out and register people or do volunteering for democrats if you're upset instead people screeching autistically about Trump and Muh Russia over and over throughout the country. Also, crying wolf about this horse and blowing it out of proportion leads people to tune you out when something big does happen.
I generally agree Russia's efforts had little overall effect, but it wasn't for a lack of trying. The question is, whether we should put up with active efforts of an intelligence agency of a foreign government to attack the very idea of democracy itself. Western liberal democracy is under threat from authoritarian regimes. That is important.

Denying the scope or existence of that problem will not address it.

There is also the matter that the sitting president appears to be actively compromised by that same government.

But then, predicting what Trump will, or won't do is sort of a mugs game. He never fails to do the stupidest possible, just when you think he can't be dumber.

The thing about a good theory though, it that it both explains facts, and you can make testable predictions.

    Fact 1:
Russia attempted to hack our electoral process through a multi-pronged attack.

    Fact 2:
Donald "look how big my inauguration crowd was" Trump has done nothing but deny this even happened, and has gone so far as to take the extraordinary effort to delegitimize his own intelligence services when they something did happen. He has shown no willingness whatsoever to hold Russia to account for anything.

    Fact 3:
Donald Trump has a pattern of criticizing anyone, and everyone at the drop of a hat. Allies, enemies, courts, free press, nothing has escaped his remarks and twitter feed, except for ONE/(two) thing(s), and that is Russia/Putin

    Fact 4:
Russian efforts appeared designed to support Trump

    Fact 5:
Trump directly called on Russia publicly to support his efforts to get elected.

    Fact 6:
Donald Trump has gone out of his way to meet and talk with Putin privately in person, with no American witnesses. This is the only leader with which he has acted in this manner.

    Fact 7:
Donald Trump, when forced to sign a bipartisan sanctions bill passed with a veto-proof majority of both houses of Congress, issued a signing statement saying most of it was uncons utional, and that his administration would enforce it as little as possible.

    Fact 8:
when Russia retaliated against sanctions by forcing the US embassy to cut staff, Trump thanked Putin for the action, making him look weak, something he has said one should never do, and is inconsistent with his past behavior in any other regard.

    Theory:
Donald Trump has been compromised in some way. Either he directly owes them money, or they have evidence of some kind of him breaking the law or doing something he does not want others to know about.

This theory explains those facts, and is fully consistent with observed reality.

    Prediction:
Donald Trump will take no action personally, nor will he criticize Russia or Putin in any way in regards to the Russian attack on our elections. He may allow his underlings to do some minor, inconsequential stuff, and if forced to do anything by Congress will drag his feet, if not outright attempt to veto any sanctions.

The way to falsify the theory:
    1) Trump criticizes Putin/Russia (good)
    2) Trump orders/takes action that materially harms Russian interests (definitive)

Bull conspiracy theories fail very often because either: they cannot be falsified, or they directly conflict with observed reality. This theory can be falsified, and does not conflict with what we know as fact.

Donald Trump is unpredictable except for Russia

And yet, fresh sanctions will be implemented in January.
