Choker...period.
No need to be exposing your lack of arguments, on this matter, like that son.![]()
To play devil's advocate, Dirk was always labeled as a player that could never win the big one until he went god mode in '11
The choke label is exaggerated. CP3 has had bad individual performances and bad individual moments in the playoffs, just like any other player. He's also had great games and great moments in the playoffs and both won and lost, in series clinching and elimination games. In fact, he's had more good games than bad games in those series clinching or elimination games, but his team hasn't always won.
He did choke last year. But you really have to go back to his days in New Orleans to find a really bad performance in a series clinching or elimination game before last year. He usually shows up. His team doesn't always win.
Duncan would never be labeled a choker because he has rings to back his resume up. But he's had his bad playoff moments as well. A 10-for-27 performance in a game 7 but his team won so it's forgotten. The failed tip attempt to lose the le but the team came back the following year to erase the pain. The first round loss to Memphis as a 1 seed. Those don't stain his career because of the rings.
CP3 has usually showed up in the playoffs. He's also choked before. He's also showed up big but his team still lost. So it is what it is and people will label it however they feel, justifiably or not.
For him to change that perception, he has to do a Dirk and at least win it one time. That will at least partially shed the label, even though riding Harden's coat tails will be the resulting label.
Bill_Brasky sighting...
The terms choker is being thrown around way too liberally. Most of the players does not perform up to expectations because the team wasn't designed in a way to play in the playoffs (Garnett Wolves, Robinson Spurs, Hakeem Rockets before the le runs, Dirk Mavs before the le runs, Nash Suns). Chokers are those that fail to deliver every single time despite having the team construct to do so, and the only player that would fit that mode is Karl Malone. I can't really think of another legit choker in NBA history.
Curry should be there, he plays poorly compared to his normal output, but those two le teams were just too talented that it just eclipsed his chokiness.
Stats aren't everything. You can have a super clutch guy that averages 8 points a game but constantly hits big time shots late. You can have a dude that averages 30, but can't get the buckets you absolutely need down the stretch.
Stats don't always define if a player is clutch.
Literally the one example that CP0 stans always point to because they have nothing else. Remind me again what happened in the next round?
We all know you hate CP3 but you skew the truth so much. That one Spurs performance is the only time he showed up in an important playoff game? You're a Clippers fan. You really can suggest that honestly? Game 7 against Memphis back in 2012 where none of the other starters even scored in double digits and he not only led the team offensively but also held Mike Conley in check. In a game 7. Another game 7 against Splash brothers in 2014 where he put up 22 and 14 in a five point win. Game 7. How about the round after that in a game 6 loss to OKC where CP3 scored 14 of the team's last 20 points of the game shooting 6-7 and assisted on two of the other buckets, but the team fell short. Blame him for that too? I'm sure you do.
As for what happened the next round after that Spurs game, how about the ENTIRE team choked a 3-1 series lead against the Rockets? Calling that a choke job by Paul is just as stupid as blaming Blake Griffin. Those two were the only two who showed up offensively in those final couple of losses. JJ Re couldn't hit and Jamal Crawford doing his best John Starks impression. Yeah, the Clippers team choked that playoff series. But how could anyone blame CP3? And remind me who was guarding Josh Smith and Corey Brewer to make them look like Tracy Mcgrady and Vince Carter in their primes?
CP3 choke last year. Everyone calling him a career playoff choker don't even really remember the rest of his playoff games. They just look that his team can't advance far in the post season and simply say that's him choking even though he's one who in fact usually shows up, win or lose.
Didn't CP0 choke Game 5 of that 2014 series against OKC? He also had like 4 TOs in that fourth quarter meltdown in 2015 as well and was MIA against Memphasis in their 2013 first round loss to Memphis.
Yes on the game 5 against OKC. Not an elimination game. He showed up the next game, an elimination game, but the team still lost.
Meltdown is strong when your team is already down 20 in the fourth quarter on the road in game 7 before those turnovers and forced shots, after you're one of the guys that did the heavy lifting not only to try to keep the game within reaching distance but thought the entire series.
And no on the 2013 Memphis series. He was actually the only one to care to show up.
He was injured but still posted 15 and 7 on 49% shooting, 40% 3 pt shooting and 90% FT shooting.
On the last three games that the Clippers lost he averaged 26.3 ppg, 10.3 apg and 4.6 rpg on 51% shooting.
Issue with CP3 isn't that he is a choker, the problem is that he pounds the air out of the ball every time, and is a control freak on offense, like a Barkley of PGs. The offense, over the course of a 7 game series, becomes more predictable, and good defenses learn to adapt and shut it down, or at least get enough stops. This gets magnified in the last few minutes of any game, when CP3 is just gassed from expending so much energy the entire game.
With Harden alongside him, it gives the offense variety, and will be very difficult to stop, because you can force any one of them to give up the ball, but it would be almost impossible to do it for both of them. Both of them can create for themselves, both of them can create for others, and both of them can finish from 3, drives, or mid range (if the Rockets actually decide to shoot midrange). I still have questions about their defense though, while the supporting players can D somewhat, oppositions can run the offense targeting those to to expose mismatches or tire them out.
Go to NFL sf to see him crying more.
Damn. CP3 is the difference between the Rockets barely making the playoffs and being a top 3 seed. Amazing player.
Damn. With CP0, the Rockets got blown out by the Wizards and narrowly avoided losing to the awful Lakers (while letting them score 142 on them).
Yet another example of The Narrative in action:
http://www.tmz.com/2017/12/27/james-...uston-rockets/
Frauden's partying habits have been known for years. Media is only rehashing it now because CP0 needs a scapegoat. Media will point to stories like these to justify playing the "Rockets lost because Frauden isn't serious enough/doesn't care as much as CP0" card when the Rockets choke in the playoffs.
Definitely still a top-5 player in the league. Look at where the Clitters are without him![]()
Same place we were with him: not a le contender. But at least we won't be paying $207 million to one of the biggest chokers and underachievers in NBA history in his 30s.
Son i'm sorry i hurt your feelings by suggesting that you keep your nonsense contained to the proper forum. No need to further exacerbate the problem by carrying it over here and derailing other threads.

Cool. I don't give a . Go argue with chumpdumper for 9 pages about it. Just make sure it stays there.
Trigger warning: Bill might blow up at any moment.
