Republican Rep. Mia Love (Utah) on Thursday called for President Trump to apologize for those he "wantonly maligned" in his reported comments*about immigrants from " hole countries."

Love, who was born to Haitian parents, said the president's comments about those from Haiti and African countries were "unkind, divisive, elitist and fly in the face of our nation's values."

"My parents came from one of those countries, took an oath of allegiance to it, and took on the responsibilities of everything that being a citizen comes with," she said in a statement.

"The President must apologize to both the American people and the nations he so wantonly maligned," Love said.

On Fox News they were seriously dismissing it as "bar talk".

We'll be spending the weekend with a very bright young student from South Sudan who is being hosted by our in-laws. It's his first time to an American city outside of Abilene, TX, where he is currently working on a degree as a part of a scholarship program with a three-year waiting period and very strict grade requirements.

He's one of the most naturally intellectually gifted people I've ever met. Prior to August he had never seen a smartphone. He is now coding apps. He has also taught himself to play piano, even though he had never touched one before last year. He is in love with America, has become a big fan of football and Friends and Star Wars. All of these are brand new to him.

I don't know if he will want to move to America after he has graduated and someday even become a citizen, but I hope by that time we have a President and a bigger part of the population who sees him as a valuable asset to this country instead of just another leacher from a hole country.

I know some people from African countries including some of have since moved back... These people are not dolts especially the ones with the ambition to come here to go to school or to work for an international company.

Yeah I've got my own anecdote too. I know a business associate from Africa that has to be pissed right now.

    And he voted for Trump.

It's a trap: where does TX rate in many categories vs other states.

One category I came across yesterday is that TX is ahead only of MS in infrastructure.

Maternal, new-born death rates, TX is national champion.

    K-12?

The only thing that seems to matter is how much melanin is in his skin.

Hope he does well. Humans are assets to any country, and immigrants to the US supercharge our economy in ways that many people on the right who think they are for the free market are oblivious to.

Whether the countries are holes or not is irrelevant. The President's comments are about the people who have worked hard, despite their environment, to make better lives for themselves in the beacon that America is supposed to be. The President thinks their individual merits are irrelevant and that people should be judged on where they come from.

Sorry, a bipartisan, non-classified meeting of government officials full of staffers is as public as yelling it on a street corner.

not teddy my bad. I love teddy I meant harry truman. He was a known racist:

"The only language they seem to understand is the one we have been using to bombard them. When you have to deal with a beast you have to treat him like a beast. It is most regrettable but nevertheless true"
