I have no doubt they'll overpay for another under achiever
So what are our chances of landing Ossai now that Price has been retained?
I have no doubt they'll overpay for another under achiever
I'd say very slim. He's always seemed to be more pro-aggies although he's considering both schools. I think Price being gone would have been our real shot at him. Now that it's known Price is staying in ag country I'd bet that shuts the door on us for good.
Damn...
Just my two cents. I reviewed his Twitter and it's been more pro aggie of late. You'd be surprised how more often than not Twitter science is correct. I'd like to be wrong.
Inside Texas saying UT stopped by to see DE Tyree Wilson of New London West Rusk this morning.
With no official announcement coming down yet, Inside Texas said "all 10 coaches" will be on the road today and then will return to Austin for official visit weekend.
Sounds like we'll know very soon who the new coach is.
My wish list for closing 2018 recruiting cycle is as follows
1. Keep all the guys we have committed.
2. Get the Rice grad transfer
3. Get the Stanford grad transfer
4. Get two dlinemen.
5. Get the Mormon QB from Cali
Do those things and I will say this was the best recruiting haul any 7-6 team ever had.
Not only is Calvin Anderson from Austin, his mom is UT grad...i liked our chances to begin with now I like them even more. Can't bet against mom, right?
I may have jumped the gun a bit.
It's possible the extra coach on the road is Carrington or Huff until the new guy is hired.
Looking for clarification on that.
The Football Brainiacs are saying that a few coaches saw DE Joseph Ossai first thing this morning.
There will be an in-home visit tonight too.
OrangeBloods reporting that Texas is about to add former A&M OC, Noel Mazzone, to the staff as a quality control assistant on the offensive side.
He is still being paid by A&M so a lower salary won't be a problem.
Per The Football Brainiacs, Coach Meekins and Coach Orlando will visit LB Jacoby Simpson of Aldine MacArthur today.
Since de-committing from Arizona State in December, he has received Tech and TCU offers.

My REALISTIC wish list:
1. Coburn + Ingram
2. Rice and Stanford grad
3. 1 extra linemen
Wait... this isn't teh 10th assistant right? All these les are confusing me.
Inside Texas reporting that UT will be looking at RB/WR Ta'Zhawn Henry of Houston Lamar as a contingency plan for WR Jaylen Waddle.

On DaShaun White of Richland...Inside Texas is saying Coach Orlando will stay on him until Signing Day in case OU decides to get rid of DC Mike Stoops and LBs coach Tim Kish.
The report said he is not expected to be the new assistant.
He will be a lower staff member to help with the offense, but he can't be a coach on the field.
He will be QC, or quality control.
So a coaching move was the reason the TFB guys were saying was reason for a strong finish. Carrington can be on the road recruiting and he's proven winner among recruits and families.
as long as he isn't calling the plays. Terrible.

He isn't a coach, quality control. A&M is paying his salary for us to have a guy help with offense from
his desk. It's a win situation for Texas.
