I'd do a seven man rotation over playing Joff, tbh.

Yeah, this team is not a contender right now....certified pretender status.

Even without Kawhi and Manu, that is a game the Spurs have to win.

There is still time left to get it together, but if the playoffs started tomorrow, I'd say first round exit is our ceiling.

    Embarrassing tbh.

    Hawks beat Hawks-west.

The 2000s Hawks is what we'll be for the next decade. Bottom feeding playoff team not good enough to contend and not bad enough to tank.

    Stuck in basketball purgatory

What can SA do? They are not healthy or in rhythm. Everyone knew this ceiling was high but margin for error was slimmer than most due to guard play/age/etc...

SA is still a very good team and fans are being way too critical of a team not only dealing with losing an MVP player for the majority of the season but then a ton of other key injuries.

In the short-term SA overcame this better than almost any team outside of GS could. But this is lingering for a long time.

Without Harden, HOU lost a ton of games. CLE even with Lebron is struggling, imagine if they lost him. SA is doing well for what they have but it’s an issue what is going on.

Really hate this current team. It’s comparable to the 08 - 11 seasons. Dark times indeed.

I would be more worried if it appeared the Spurs were trying their best to win games and lost. Pop's rotations and subs ution patterns seem more about putting the not ready into situations and see how they react instead of caring about wins and losses. Also this whole resting scheme.

We all knew we would be mediocre after the horrendous offseason. Add in the injuries and inconsistency and here we are.

Um maybe dont construct a roster full of injury prone players???

Kawhi and Rudy were expected to be hurt, considering both are coming off season ending injuries.

Parker, Manu, and Gasol are all running on an empty tank at this point and it's been known they're past their expiration date.

Green is 30 years old and injury prone and it's so obvious PATFO will overpay to keep his scrub ass around.

Gasol has been great and barley missed any time. Manu too. TP came back earlier than expected. Unfortunatley Murray didn’t do much with his time so SA has no choice but to play TP/Mills.

Even with all that, this same injury prone team made it to the WCF last year and is still top 3 in the West

You can't expect kawhi to miss this number of games, Injuries are the major issue for us. After that you have that bad summer and we miss talent to be better without kawhi, gay .....

Man, the more I look at this, the worse of a loss it seems. Atlanta is 12-31, good for 14/15 in the East. Sure we were on the road, but we should have beat this team. Their top scorers were 26 for Schroder (a young, quick, above average PG), 20 for Ilyasova (a streaky shooting jack-of-all-trades big with a season and career 11ppg), 12 for Dedmon and John Collins each, both of which were going against our supposedly strong font line. This means 1. our backcourt gave up a large portion of 26 to their starting PG while our PGs scored 6, 8 and 13 combined, 2. we gave up 12/12/10/10 to replacement level players, including a center and a SG we let go earlier (Dedmon/Beli). Also scary is Aldridge had another great offensive game with 25 points/11 boards. This means we need Kawhi even more to beat a bottom dwelling team on the road. Especially since our coach got out coached in the game winning time (<1min to go).

We've also lost to the worst team in the East, the Magic, earlier in the year.

Great post. We are fortunate we haven’t lost more. LMA playing hard and showing leadership. I was really disappointed to see Kawhi sit and today’s loss is tough. We dropped to 4th in the West.
