Given that Leia didn't die in the movie afterall, I dont get her presence there at all. Where was Leia's second in command where she was in a coma? It was never this chick.

Apparently Lando was supposed to be the owner of the casino, but Billy Dee Williams couldn’t pull off a good enough Lando performance so they scrapped it. Which is saying something, considering the state of Carrie Fisher in both of these new ones.

You are the one having a hard time seeing why someone would rather stay in the Empire rather than join the rebels. If you aren't willing to fight for the rebellion, you aren't doing anything that "matters". Hashtags don't make the SW universe go round.
They do abduct children and turn them into soldiers. Of course, I still have no idea why they didn't just keep using clones.
Wasn't the tech destroyed? Or just the clones going mad wholesale made it not worth it. Can't remember if it was canon or not, but nothing to be resurrected either way.

Yeah, no. You were the person who jumped in a conversation of why living in the Empire would be worse than living in a war by saying "they destroy planets". So if you now think it would be something you'd just post about online rather than joining the war, then you don't actually think that's a reason why average Imperial subjects would be part of the rebellion So your comment was as impactful as "their soldiers can't shoot".
Maybe. Someone likely tackled that in the EU. I'd have a hard time seeing why using clones that you raise as kids (like Bobba Fett) wouldn't be preferable to abducting children, though. Maybe you're right that the tech was lost.

He was in the OT for a grand total of 150 seconds.

He was in command of the assault the second death, not from ground base but taking live fire. That sigh of relief and exhaustion he gives when they take down the star destroyer, it's a great moment. And let's not forget his line that has been quoted for the last 35 years..."IT'S A TRAP!" Not to mention he has been in the fight with the rebels / resistance for over 35 years.
He deserved a better death than a just a passing line of dialogue. It was this movies equivalent of Chewie walking right by Leia after Hans death in TFA. Small detail, but a missed opportunity for a big impact. It just wasn't right.

Ackbar’s “impact” was 30+ years of toys and nostalgia. I wanted more for him but that’s just my personal fanboyism, not some flaw in the movie. In 30 years the kids who grew up with these Star Wars movies will think of purple hair lady the same way.
