As was pointed out initially, the article discussed that. I even went to point out what I had found significant.

For a supposed lawyer you suck at reading and logic.
When you write something stupid, you get called on it. You are repeating yourself and ignoring the refutations that were already made. dabom even helped you out by bolding the parts I was referring to. It is stupid and petty of you to come back and double down on it, dim.
yeah, no. the article headline said they lacked the votes to avoid a shutdown. they just got the votes to avoid a shutdown. they'll continue kicking the can until republicans fall in line. but as of now, they got the votes needed to avoid a shutdown.

whether they have the votes to pass a full budget proposal is a different question that the article spent time talking about.

They did not at the time the article was posted. It was factual. Further the article including the portion included in the OP you are whining about discusses everything you've been parroting for the last two days in a much more thorough and comprehensive manner than what you have going on

They got the votes to pass the debt ceiling increase in the house and now the senate has less than 36 hours to get it's together. You sure are intellectually lazy and should spend more time reading to grasp the subject at hand as opposed to popping off and trying to snark on others.

i didnt deny it the report. i said its not worth the hoopla, as i was pretty convinced they'd avoid the shutdown.

And again, what hoopla? The article put the points you are crying for in the second sentence so it's not there. I hope you do a better job arguing in your briefs than this.

Just curious what do you remember about congress in 2012 and 2013? Were there similar instances to this one where they were able to kick the can down the road back then before that October?

yeah there was a shutdown for a couple of weeks while i was in college. except in that case, they weren't able to kick the can even once, while the current congress has done so a few times already. that was also a republican house sending deals over to a democrat senate. its not the same situation, dim

    https://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/...nment-shutdown

That was just one of many in the years before.

Like I said, you should spend less time spouting off and more time educating yourself. The GOP house took over in 2012 and did this for 18 months.

Oh and when people parrot my digs back at me as you do then that just tells me that they are effective. It also speaks to a lack of creativity. It doesn't have the effect you hope, dim.

stand corrected on that. still stands that it's a very different situation when you have a the same party running both chambers (albeit by a slim majority in the senate). i dont see why this extension is going to be the big showdown compared the previous ones

the fact that the digs have no effect show just that... they aren't effective, dim.

Ahh so now you are back to making up stories again. As I have told others, my parents are dead and I own my own home.

I put the over/under on your income at $20k AAV and think it hilarious that you are as mindlessly conservative as you are.

I showed how they are demonstrated through your action. Your blanket dismissal is nothing in the face of that. Like I said, I hope you do better in your written arguments for court. Your here is not compelling in the least

And you need to show how the difference in the Senate is substantive in the way you want it to be. In 2013, the GOP house was able to shut things down all by itself. I fail to see how a GOP senate in the picture now makes the situation better. You think Reid and the democrats would have tarried on a bill sent across the hall to avert the shutdown?

Of course not but as the article I posted here illustrates, the GOP Senate has its own issues. You still don't seem to grasp that all that was done today was with the House.

You don't have a shop and barely get work. You are like a hairdresser renting a stall in someone else's shop who gets no customers.

Called out on what? Arguments that you abandon at the first refutation? You haven't been right about anything to this point.

The quoted portion of the article talks about the senate in the 3rd and 4th paragraphs and ends on it with the last 3. Your reading skills are terrible. And the focus of the article is besides the point. The reality is that the Senate has a little over 26 hours to avert the shutdown now and they have their own issues.

And that was a long winded essay to you? It was less than a dozen sentences. It's things like this that stretch credibility as to your claims for being in the legal profession. You write your briefs in crayon too?
