These look like guys who could have defended Kyrie's off the dribble moves, Steph's pull up 3, Russell Westbrook on the break, etc. LOL
..Imagine thinking that any player from the 80's could have defended this
Today's NBA players are better than ever before in every single aspect. Kyrie Irving would be the GOAT if he played in the 80's. It's that ing simple.

Great move and shot. But an 80s defender has a bent forearm against him on those initial dribbling moves. And on the spin there's some sort of hip check or forearm extension to get him off balance and make the shot tougher. And there'd be no foul call. Curry plays clean defense there. If he puts a fingernail on him, prolly gets a foul call.
Maybe KI still makes the shot. But the physicality of the defense would be different.
finally somebody that actually plays basketball![]()
Nothing spectacular about the move.
Faked reversing, didn't.
Big deal.
snowflake Curry on D.
Dennis Johnson most certainly would.
And would like to see any of the modern gots guard 80s good offense.
Imagine Kevin Durant whining for a foul call around McHale, McHorn, Bird, etc.
They'd slap him upside the head and then snap that pussys arm twigs.
Currys little got prance/dance after hitting a three.
Phucker would on the floor next time he waltzed down the lane.
todays NBA.
I saw that era live and I'm seeing this crap today

While you're right about the clobbering part....it doesn't even need to go to that level.
Imagine the same exact play and allow hand-checking. Totally different games we're talking about.
So you used an example where players intoday’s nba were proven not be able to defend to hypothesize that players in the 8
’s couldn’t defend to say that players from :today’s nba were better than players in the 8
’s?
today’s nba fan.
But in case you haven’t heard of isiah thomas (not the defenseless midget intoday’s nba), here you go:

Great handles no doubt, but that elbow to the skull and 12 s ches later, he'd be shooting from farther out or passing the ball.
Nowhere near Kyrie's handles. Just the Eurostep would up most of the 80's defenders.
You mean like Sarunas Marciulionis? He had it but it’s not like he dominated the 90s
There has always been players with sick handles. Cousy, Maravich, tiny, isiah, hardaway, Kevin Johnson, Iverson, nash and now kyrie. Sure they get better and better but much of it is how Carry is having looser and looser definitions.
Got nothing on this guy...
Nah Kyrie would have been Fat Lever's backup tbh
tbh most of today's stars would be less relevant, especially superficial players like kylie, durante and harden. You defend kyrie properly and physically and he checks out of the game. Durant can't handle physicality. Harden without his 15 fts a game is an average player. Curry/Cp3 wouldn't last physically.
on the other hand some other players would be even greater tbh:
on the other hand lebron would be so much better in that era, letting him handcheckand play uncontested bully ball 1v1
leonard with hand check
westbrick would be right at home in the fast pace 80s eastern conference. Imagine this nig coked up![]()
that play at 0:27
ambchang pretending this guy is a great ball handler comparable to kyrie or chris paul... that first defender slipping and falling for literally no reason
Let's not forget the era though. The money wasn't there for them to play basketball and train all year.
During the off season, Cousy had to work two jobs. Longshoreman and fry cook. Just to pay his bills.
Not to mention the rampant drug use. Cousy would often be spotted drinking before the games and at halftime.
I saw a do entary the other night where he admitted to playing one of his best games while tripping on LSD.
thats all fine and dandy
boiled down, he's not in the same universe as a ball handler as kyrie or cp3
Today's offensive player has 3 things on their favor:
1) no physical / hand checking defense is allowed
2) the amount of carrying on practically ever possession makes even that much harder to play D
3) the travels today's players get away with is absurd and adds another layer of difficulty for the defender
it works both ways. that means all your great defensive players would be ty goons in today's league and would foul out in minutes
that Cousy video. Time warp that little white guard from Philly to that era and he is a multiple time mvp
Easily, tbh..
I always find that to be trippyif Chandler Parsons was born 30 years earlier, he would be viewed as a mythical figure, a legend, a non-ugly Larry Bird..
That sucks for today's white American NBA players..they would all be viewed much differently had they been born 20-40 years ago..
