it's not legit the 2nd best defense when Murray and Anderson, two of the best defenders together with Green in this depleted team only played 20 and 22 minutes and were benched in the 4th Q.
and by the way not agendaing (and don't care if it tickles ppl)... but if you had played muchkin lineups all season no way you have a 2nd best rated defense. sucks.

At some point does Pop not have to actually address why he keeps having to say the team is not playing a full focused game? Why aren’t they focused and why do they keep getting into holes and giving noticeable half-a** efforts until they try to turn it around.
How many post game interviews are we going to hear Pop say that the team only played a half of basketball.

Exactly. Something is wrong with the team. Pop's been flailing for weeks trying to figure it out. Makes me wonder (and this is completely baseless speculation) if the reason Kawhi "has concerns about the roster" is because LMA wasn't traded.
He put up his points and Spurs took the L. Tied for the worst +/- on the team.

Who knows. He shouldn’t have THAT many concerns and seeing LMA play this way should make him happy. But SA will have to do something this deadline or Summer.
In large part because he played the most minutes in a losing effort. His season on-offs are significantly better than anyone but maybe Murray (who's pretty much breaking stats right now).

Unless Kawhi straight-up doesn't like LMA. Then no matter how good Aldridge plays, it wouldn't be enough. Like people are assuming Kawhi places winning above everything else. People assume that with most stars. But few do.

We've seen this song and dance before. They'll just chalk things up to injury and role back the same team next season sans two of Fathead/Forbes/Gay/Bertans unless Kawhi is gone.
I am not sure Pop knows what to do at this point.
He can't ride the vets like he would in the past bc outside of Lamarcus they are all inconsistent and some are very poor on some nights. Age shows. Pau is turning into a situational player again that needs to come off the bench (no surprise there) but he doesn't have enough bigs and must play super tiny lineups that just won't be able to stop anyone.
He hasn't streamlined his rotation this late and is on the other side of the fence. He's still playing 12 guys, pulling guys here or there and changing things in a panic at the last minute.
Okay so let me put on my conspiracy cap:
Pop was quoted as having a convo with LMA that went along the lines of "Listen, I'll be happy to trade you, if we can bring in someone like KD. I'll pack your bags and drive you to the airport. But otherwise we're gonna have to make this work somehow."
what if that was less about LMA and more about communicating a message to Kawhi, that PATFO can't get anyone for Aldridge that will be equal or greater value.
Again, baseless speculation. But LMA and Lillard supposedly didn't like each other, and that didn't really come out until LMA left. I just see a Kawhi in a suit not being very engaged, and it sort of suggests that the rumors could have real legs. LMA signed his deal four days after the first Kawhi rumors came out, so they were probably being discussed when the report occurred. Then you have the Spurs being surprisingly decent despite Kawhi being out and LMA (rightfully) getting most of the credit. Then you have Kawhi potentially disagreeing with the team on how healthy he is and wanting to be sat EVEN MORE than Pop wants.
LMA joked that he didn't know what Kawhi sounded like because they hadn't spoken to each other. And they pretty much have no chemistry on the court.
Again, not really saying this is true. I obviously hope not. But Leonard is not Duncan. He's just not. He's much closer to Derrick Rose in terms of temperament. Without the gangbanger .
