45.6 Million Tune In For Trump’s First State Of The Union Address

The Nielsen company said former President Barack Obama drew 48 million people for his first State of the Union in 2010.

Trump’s audience was down from the 47.7 million people who watched his address to the joint session of Congress last February.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/4...+%28TPMNews%29

Trash lower than Obama, and even lower than his earlier speech to Congress

And the er is lying right to everyone's faces about it

"President Trump says the 45.6 million television viewers for*his first State of the Union address*was “the highest number in history.” It was not. Not even close."......

That's not true. Harley sales have been decreasing for a long time, specifically on the domestic front. My firm represents two dealerships- one in Minny and one here locally and they biggest pushes they have both made is after their past buyers. Harley's fanbase is in the older generation and they didn't market to the younger fanbase until too late and it's killing them. Numbers have been trending downwards for the last 4-5 years.

TPP being nixed didn't kill Harley's sales last year, the year before and so on. Harley is dying because they didn't market to a new user base.

Not really "dying", they still generate billions in revenue, but they're axing 800 people because they didn't focus on the demographics that would install a loyal user base as their current user base dies off. Very little to do with TPP when it's been that way for 4 years.

Young people don't give a about big motorcycles and couldn't afford them if they did. They're looking forward to self driving cars they can hail with an app more than anything.

Exactly. It's not TPP forcing HD to layoff 800 people, it's the audience changing with the times.

Oh, I think TPP could probably help them expand into other markets. That's the only route for growth.

They're building a plant in Thailand to service the Asian market. I can see the need to expand, but TPP isn't absolutely the be all, end all. Pay the countries tarriffs and you're good to open new markets.

I dunno, don't you think the youth in those countries would be similar to the youth here- self-driving cars and if there is a bike market, it'd be the Chinamen crotch rockets or eurotrash scooters/"bikes" there that are already popular?

China had really ty motorcycle laws last I checked. I'm not saying it would be a bonanza for HOG, but if their building a plant over there like you said, that's a sign of demand. I don't know if there's a big difference between the domestic and foreign made models or if there was any plan to export -- but it sure looks like TPP could help one way or another.

Right-Wing Realist Ranks Trump Atop List Of All-Time Stupid Criminals

    Jennifer Rubin.

In this clip courtesy of MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber, the neoconservative WaPo columnist spells out how

Donald Trump has publicly incriminated himself in Robert Mueller’s obstruction-of-justice investigation.

    From

asking several high-ranking officials for “loyalty,”

to helping Don Jr. pen a shady denial of colluding

with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya against Hillary Clinton,

the POTUS (and his big mouth) is a gift that keeps giving to the Special Counsel.

And where does that leave Trump?

Rubin has an idea for a new Most Wanted list, ranking crooks who can’t spell “dog” if you spot them the D and the O.

Conservatives can be funny…and occasionally even right.
