I love Bill Walton. Absolutely hilarious.![]()
as a kid, I used to hate Bill Walton when he was on NBC. Now as I'm older, I miss the old stoner and his hyperboles.
Lillard with 44 pts pulls the upset of GSW.
Durant pours 50.. not enough. GSW bench practically didn't help at all.
It highlights how terrible det Paddy/Pau/Forbes bench gave the game to GSW against the Spurs the last time.
No it doesn't illustrate that. It illustrates the Spurs without Kawhi and Gay being out don't have perimeter players capable of scoring 20 or more to keep up with the Warriors. Keep in mind CJ McCollum also scored 29 for the Blazers
So, who would you rather coach your team? Doc or Pop?
I am highlighting how awful the GSW bench did in that case vs appearing world beaters vs the Spurs bench.. talking about bench play...
I don’t follow OKC but apparently they miss Andre Roberson more than one would have thought l. Their losing skid has been explained by his patellar tendon injury.
An article about it:

The team that Jerry West created is one of the deepest in the league, and certainly better built than spurs
Marco would be an upgrade over Patty this year, even with matching deals.
Typical. Refusing to give a black (or in his case, mixed) coach credit. Whether he actually deserve it or not is besides the point. The reality is, if he were white (or in his case, 100% white), he'd be receiving it.
Let me guess, the players are mostly responsible for Raptors and Pacers success, but the coach is for Celtics and Jazz? Never fails.
Bwahahahahha
this is really stupid, I wonder why you thought it was some case of racism veiled or like that, certainly not because of my history in this forum, sorry if my opinion (which I'm sure is correct) is different from yours, I think you will have to live with it.
For the record, I like blite people...or is it whack people?
I've watched every game. We're winning in spite of Doc's re ed coaching. He literally plays Milos and Lou in lineups together on a regular basis - need I say more?
That was a huge loss for them, lot of people close to them thought it would impact them a great deal.
That’s too bad. One can’t feel that much sympathy for them bc Spurs injuries are worse. I am not one to be wishing guys got injured but why don’t the GSW get the injury bug. Heck Durant and Westbrook lost some playoff appearances and seasons to injuries while they were in OKC. Spurs got the injury bug each of the last 3 season’s (Tim’s knee in 2016, Tiago’s calf and Tony’s hamstring + Kawhi’s hand in 2015, last season Zaza happened but Kiwi was already limping since the Houston series, this year has by far been the worse of Kawhi’s era...)
I am slightly concerned that Kiwi’s hamstring turns out like Tiago’s calf. No one ever found out how yo make him better and he eventually retired. That would be awful but if Kawhi doesn’t come back this season I don’t know how anyone can feel relieved.
It will eventually happen to them to. Injuries are unpredictable but if you play long enough in this league no team escapes them. The Lakers during the 80's were relatively injury free until Magic tore his hamstring in the '89 Finals and then in '91 they lost Worthy and Byron Scott to injuries. Celtics were also relatively injury free for most of the 80's up until the end of the 80's where they lost Bird for a season due to a back injury. They also got screwed in the '87 finals when McHale broke his foot. The early '00 Lakers never suffered injuries to their key players until the '03 playoffs when Rick Fox broke his foot. In a few years the Warriors will get some injuries simply from playing more games in the playoffs which gives more opportunities for injuries to happen.
The Warriors are a younger team, and workload is shared more equally due to their wealth of talent. With the Spurs, older players are more susceptible to injuries. And stars like Kawhi had to shoulder a heavier burden of dragging useless midgets along, especially on the defensive end. To see them break down like that is not unusual.
The Spurs are an elite defense without him (and Dedmon, who was carrying a bunch of the load on that end too). It's hard to act like he was covering for a bad defensive cast when they're doing just fine on that end without him. Obviously on offense, Kawhi DID shoulder a huge load, whether he had to or not. It still doesn't mean he should have broken down, though. His workload was not larger than that of most stars his age.
and he still had his minutes managed. he still was rested occasionally. It's tough to argue Tom Thibodeau stuff with coach Pop.
Like I said, it's typical. I'm not saying it was conscious on your part, but I see it all the time.
man, I did not even mention the team record or training, just his roster, which changed completely with Jerry West going to the Clippers (in my opinion a team much less dependent on his "stars"), I really did not understand his point at least in relation to my post
