DNC Fundraises Off Florida Shooting
Disgusting.The Democratic National Committee is using Wednesday’s mass shooting that left 17 people dead to ask for campaign donations.
The DNC on Thursday sent out an emotional email, signed by DNC chair Tom Perez, asking supporters to sign a pe ion telling Congress that “it’s past time to take action to address our country’s gun violence epidemic.”
Anyone who signs the pe ion, which requires giving the DNC your email address and zip code, is re-directed to a donation page asking for money to “help Democrats take on the gun lobby.”
“Your contribution will benefit Democratic National Committee (DNC),” a line above the donation box reads.
Perez’s email relies on heavy, emotional language to draw in supporters. “Yesterday afternoon, a 19-year-old with a weapon of war walked into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida and opened fire, killing 17 people and injuring many others,” Perez writes.
“We have seen this happen too many times. This is not normal. This is not acceptable. This is not inevitable. It’s long past time for our leaders to stop pretending we are helpless in the face of such tragedy.”
The DNC did not immediately return a request for comment.
In his email, Perez claims the NRA is blocking policies that he says would have prevented Wednesday’s shooting — even though it’s unclear what effect, if any, those policies would have had. (The shooter, Nikolaus Perez, bought his gun legally and passed a background check.) But that attack on the NRA sets up the request for money at the donation page.
“We’re counting on you to help take on the gun lobby and elect Democrats who have the courage to address the epidemic of gun violence,” the page states. “Chip in now.”

I made a choice to post what was possibly the shooter and said can’t confirm. I made another post and said the exact same thing. 1 post happened to be him, 1 did not. This is the only site I post on and I don’t have a Facebook, Twitter, instagram etc. You seem to be worked up over nothing.

Young males are incredibly violent creatures in many cultures. If one looks at violent crime rate in almost ANY country, it's teenage to mid 20s males. The availability of weapons that kill many quickly, IS a problem in this country. The only reason males of this age are not more efficient is probably because they are too immature to totally think thru a situation.

IMO "mental health", is kicking the can down the road as well. There are plenty of mental health care patients who are totally nonviolent except towards themselves. This fictious quick ID of unstable people that WILL use a weapon... I wish it could be this easy.
And I'm not sure about how to approach getting these types of weapons and the associated ammo off the streets. I'm not exactly sure how to classify them. That's for the people who really know these tactics and weapons. Our gun group on here probably has the best ideas how to classify. So go ahead and start. If you had to be better than Mr. Vegas, where do you go easily, and what do you use easily purchased?
