why bother?? so he can get hurt again? let's just wait till next year and reload without patty
Reload? Spurs don't do it that way. Culture and class first. Loyalty contracts until the wheels fall off of everyone.

Yeah, but will the Spurs finally put a price on loyalty? Would the Spurs risk going over the cap for Danny, Tony and Kyle? What about the Kawhi supermax?

They might let Kyle go. He's not in the mount olympus of everyone else and isn't a sacred cow. He's been in Pop's doghouse most of his career and wouldn't have been playing if Kawhi had not gotten gangrene in that hamstring.

Danny really is uncertain... I think both him and team want to get back but Danny is ready for the Spurs to play hardball with him, and I think he's going to look out for his own interest... he's one of those guys perhaps you will call on a loyalty contract. I don't think he's coming back on another bargain deal.

Tony as an injury prone legend... is the one the Spurs are going to tap on to give Kiwi his supermax. Kiwi carried him while he was overpriced these past 3 years so it's time to reverse that trend.

I am starting to think Green is out to get his in FA and is probably gone if his asking price crosses PATFOs threshold- even though they can resign him using bird rights.

The Spurs; by my math are going to be very close to, and may exceed, the luxury tax, next season.

I think Gay, Bertans, Anderson and Parker are all back along with Manu. Forbes is probably going to twist in the wind for a while , the Spurs don't need him but if he doesn't have much of a market then I could see something like a 3 year, $10 deal which is a decent price for him, even though I don't like him as a player.

    Guestimates:
    Anderson- 4 years, $36 million
Gay- 2 years, $20 million (using non bird rights)
Parker- 2 years, $10 million or 3 years, $12 million
    Bertans- 3 years, $ 20 million
    Forbes- 3 years, $ 10 million

iirc, Kawhi can sign his super max extension this off season but it doesn't go into affect
until after the 2018-2019 season. Mills contract will still be on the books but I expect Gasol to get stretched and waived after next season.

    2018-2019 team

    Guards-Murray, Parker, Mills, Forbes, White
    Wings-Kawhi, Anderson, Gay, Blossomgame?
    Bigs-Aldridge, Bertans, Millutinov?
    2018 and 2019 1st round picks?

That's about right, but I expect Bertans to be a 2-year deal and Gay to opt-in, as he hasn't proven he can stay healthy. Also, I think Forbes is gone

Our beat writers are so ing bad. My God...
Our beat writers and our media in SA don't report a damned thing. Whatever this team force feeds them is the story.

They can't speculate or dare report anything in a bad light or else the AT&T Ushers will be moving them out of the arena onto AT&T Parkway.

I don't know what is worse? That or the blind following and 'in pop we trust' mentality some have. They can literally do no wrong.

all i can make of some time before the season end and sometime after the all star break is that means somewhere between late february and early april for both of them. of course, we can assume that means about 2-3 weeks for rudy and at least 4 weeks for leonard but that's still just assumption; fortunately no one on ST ever assumes anything.

I think that many players are going to regret not being on the market in the last 2 years; teams have overspent and thus the money this year is going to be in pretty short supply. There are what, 5 or 6 teams that can offer more than the MLE? I doubt either Kyle, Danny, or Rudy Gay gets more (I am not even sure that Gay and Danny opt out). Parker will get offered a loyalty contract, but it won't be insane like Patty's was/is (worst FO mistake in a long time, even worse than RJ), possibly in line with the the taxpayer or room MLE's (~ 5.2 or 4.3 Million). I think Forbes is gone - they shouldn't pay more than the vet min - and they will be in roster spot crunch anyways...

I’m sure he’ll be in the stands watching the playoffs. Unfortunately, so will the rest of the Spurs.

You should be glad he is hating on Kyle non-stop; otherwise that mild knee sprain he had in December would have been a torn ACL if he were a fan ..
