Because he’s not. This speculation is getting ridiculous. I seriously want to know if they checked Kawhi for nerve damage. Since they can’t find anything wrong then it has to be a nerve issue then.
logically this does not make sense, even speculation about it being real is ridiculous.

Lebron is trying to pass Kareem on the scoring list. He aint playing for popovich. just stop it
also think he does not come to San Antonio because of their numbers but I think he is more concerned about surpassing Michael Jordan rings than KAJ scoring
Although we are losing we are still competing with teams without Leonard, Aldridge, and Gay. Take off lebron for a whole season and see what happens to the Cavs . Take harden out for a season and see what happens . If your a top 5 player and your out for a whole season what did you expect to happen ? No common sense here .
Lol at someone saying the speculation is getting ridiculous then speculates about the medical prowess of some of the finest doctors around.
You do realize Kawhi isn't going to rank-and-file HMO doctors or crooked workman's comp doctors?
The best doctors in the world can't find anything wrong with him. So, either he's a hypochondriac (thanks Pop for brainwashing Kawhi with all the paranoia about injuries ... but that seems unlikely) OR he's faking it.
What's laughable is the people who still believe Kawhi has any injury at all.
NOT speculation towards the injury. Speculation towards thinking he doesn’t want to be there... and faking injuries. And all things related to that.
Edit: Just anything that has anything to do with avoiding the team and wanting to leave by any means necessary.
Not saying it will happen, but:
Problem is Lakers can't pay the Supermax.
It's not that ridiculous because NBA players actually do it. Eric Gordon comes to mind. He spent his entire time with the Pelicans "injured" and the local media was saying there was nothing wrong with him. Sure enough he goes to Houston and he's fine and all the vague injuries go away.
I'm not saying that's the case with Leonard but you can't really rule it out in today's NBA.
Not saying it will happen. But the idea that the Lakers can't put together a compe ive roster is something of a misnomer.
No MVP caliber player is going to tarnish his legacy by sitting out a whole season for a bogus injury. Especially when he is on the cusp of getting a massive raise. Obviously, Kawhi feels like there is something still wrong and so it is hard to fault him for that. Whether he is right or not is a whole other subject.
I'm on the side of letting him just sit out the season at this point. Let him get where he feels he needs to be and let's tool up for next year. And that has the added benefit of letting Aldridge and our flawed roster crash and burn. Which sets up the perfect excuse for the Spurs to do an uncharacteristic Spurs move and blow up the roster in the offseason.
I agree. But Jerry West isn't running that team. They'll find a way to screw it up.
That's right. The Lakers are a poorly-run franchise and will be for the foreseeable future.
Why is it so outrageous that he might be faking an injury? Just because he's the best player on our favorite team doesn't mean he's beyond reproach.
And his absence on the bench during games and his silence overall makes the situation look even more suspect.
Bottom line, this saga continues because KL has not come out to quiet any rumours down. You would think that he would have said something by now if he was really bothered with it all. Because he doesn't, speculation mounts. Him saying something would put an end to the intrigue. At least temporarily.
In the very end, you have to conclude there is something fishy going on. Maybe unresolved.
I also dare say this has been brewing for a while and somehow PATFO was expecting a no KL year. This is where the extension of LMA deal and all the rushed re signings make sense. If they had KL on board, I doubt they would have prolonged LMAs deal and given some charity contracts away like they did with PG and PM
So a guy who’s always silent is being silent? Not weird at all. He’s just a different kind of dude. Always been awkward so it doesn’t surprise me.
And he isnt on the bench for road games. Almost all injured players in the NBA doesnt show up to road games. I almost always see him at home games.
Kawhi has said he doesn't pay attention to what's said by the sports talking heads or social media. So, he might not even be paying attention...all the while Spurstalk continues to burn to the ground in his absence.
for the people who were clowning on Jalen Rose, I'd like to remind you that Stephen A Smith corroborated this based on what he was 'hearing' as well.
I know we all hate Smith for being a blowhard celebrity, and he ain't Woj by any stretch...still, he's got more credibility than Rose IMO.
like all news, there's an echo chamber, with journalists / commentators in need of something, anything to say, "news", will repeat what they've heard without verification or accounability, like "The Pope endorses Don The Con Trash"
There are probably sinister types not in SA who want KL out of SA and on the market.
Rose is an idiot and he’s never liked the spurs .
Rose has never liked the Spurs, so he's an idiot. -- spurstalk
FIFY
I personally think it's the Spurs organization looking to do two things.
1. Tank the season for a good draft pick
2. set up aldridge for a good trade in the off season.
Tanking teams don't run up the kind of first half record the Spurs did. Tanking at mid-season would be a really incompetent tank-job.
Tanking teams also don’t play veterans heavy minutes over their youth. No reason Derrick White should be in the d’league in a tanking team and no reason not to play him over some veterans in this team. They wouldn’t have reupped Pau and Mills and it would have been time to ship off Tony’s expiring deal for assets. People have no idea what a real tank job is.
