Oh well, on to plan C. Pick up G-League player who unexpectedly turns into a superstar in the NBA and carries the Spurs to the playoffs. What are the chances that happens?
The clippers are done. Gali contract is huge. Jordan will probably get traded in the off season and Bradley bolts. The Jazz are healthy now and playing desperate basketball. They finally got a scoring guard after how many drafts?
The spurs have been injured all season. Getting Gay on that deal was very underrated. He was ready for game one. But having Parker going through injury management, while Manu and Green go down with Leonard and Gay was a disaster.

Even with decent wings, Doc still loves to run three-guard lineups and have Lou and Milos on the court together.
The Clippers have lost more win shares to injury this year than any other team in the league. A healthier Clippers team probably would be a solid playoff team instead of a bubble team.
Gallo has been playing much better now that he's at the 4 full-time. He's just too slow to play the 3 anymore. The contract doesn't look as bad now that he's playing better and in a better role.
and Gallo would be our second best wing and third best player without doubt, his ability to score is his size make him a valuable player for any team
Interesting. He must have a destination in mind...
Wouldn't mind him in SA to finally push Joff out of the rotation. He actually fits pretty well on the roster.
MIL or TOR appear to be the favorites.
You have to go back to the days of Walter Berry, and Cadillac Anderson to find a team less entertaining that this version of the Spurs.
if he goes back to the team that jettisoned him just three years ago
They cloned him tbh. But both Belis don’t play a lick of defence.
, I even remember having more fun watching the 96-97 team with Nique than this team. But hey, "3rd seed es".
I thought Ilyasova would be more likely to take Bertans's spot, not Joff's.
He'd likely be the third big, yes. But Ersan can play the five in cases where Pau and/or LMA sit.
I always thought of Ilyasova as a 4 who occasionally played the 3, kind of like Bertans. But I don't watch him play at all so he very well could handle spot minutes at the 5 against smaller opposing centers.
who knows, michael finley was our stretch 4
Ilyasova can easily play the 5 in today's league.
He was a combo-forward during his early years, when he and Mbah a Moute would essentially flip-flop. However, he's been exclusively a big since Detroit. At 6-9 with above-average rebounding skills, he can hold his own there, especially with the right lineups.
"Just to prove I can, I'm going to sign some wheelchair players and still make it to the 2nd round."
Might as well sign Derrick Rose, vet min.
I wonder why Robin Lopez is not pursuing a buyout? He’s been benched even though he’s healhty.
