Are you more likely to commit suicide using your house?
    Ask Robin Williams.

So what would home/liability insurance have to do with committing suicide or shooting an intruder or accidentally shooting a family member? Does insurance pay out for any of those? I suppose you could shoot a guest who you had invited to a party in your home (and you'd be liable). I don't remember being asked about guns when applying for home owner's insurance, and I apply quite frequently as private insurance companies go in and out of FL's market as hurricanes come and go.

Totally disagree with reason in the le - if you (the homeowner) are more likely to die, who is collecting this liability insurance? Homeowner's insurance protects the people who live within the house from liability (against other people). So if a family member uses a gun to shoot some one who lives outside the house, then that person can sue.

Not really, but you're more protected than you would be without it.
Vs an army or police force you might as well have a butter knife

Sure you might hit acouple of them but the bad thing is they will anihilate your entire family as vengeance

And they will say “well these s had assault weapons. So we had to put them all down”

You could point out that during an earthquake your house could actually "hurl" projectiles at you... Fall on you.

So when you put that vase up high placing it just so, you give the vase the potential energy to fall on your head.
Transfer the kinetic energy of falling to your cranium to scramble your brains. So in effect, you used your own food calories to do work on that vase giving it the energy to knock you silly. Physics can be painful in a roundabout way. Unleashing all that stored potential energy, The Earthquake. Cool stuff.

.... but I digress and wander...

    Carry on.

So if you were in a room and a force was about to break in the door and kill you, and on a table there was a butter knife and an AR-15 with a fully loaded magazine, you'd grab the butter knife?

So because a small country couldn't beat a superpower, they have no logical reason to even have any national defense?

Statistically are you more likely to do it with a gun in the home?

OK, explain them to me when it comes to having guns in the home and suicide rates.

It's like saying you're more likely to die in a car accident if you have a car in your driveway vs if you don't. However, the car in my driveway could belong to my neighbor, or could be inoperable, or perhaps I don't drive. Still, the statistics say I am more likely to be killed because of it. So I'd be safer to have the car moved elsewhere.

I'm sure you know this. You just need someone to talk to... again.

It's not in my genetics to bend over like you would. You might kill everyone in my family, but you're going to lose someone in the process.

So you're saying the guns in your home could be your neighbors' inoperable guns because they're the ones that you would use to commit suicide.

    Yeah, you're saying that.

Wouldn't that still qualify me as having a gun in my home, or do you need caveats now? Yeah, you do.

So even having inoperable neighbor guns in your house raises the suicide rate?

That doesn't help the argument for guns tbh.

Not necessarily, but a bunch of the guys who did commit suicide probably had the same fantasies gun owners here express.
