The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.

By comparison, President Obama earned 43% approval on this date in the second year of his presidency.

7 percentage points higher than media darling Obama. Truly remarkable considering the smear campaign and Mueller witch hunt. Trump

Nice quick read, but highly insightful.

No, Capitalist Countries Are Not “Partly Socialist”

POSTED BY: STEFANIE MACWILLIAMS FEBRUARY 26, 2018

Anyone who has spent any time following me, watching my show, or reading my articles, knows I am not a libertarian. In fact, I spend a fair amount of time debating with libertarians. I find that far too many libertarians do very little to differentiate themselves from anarchists. And the libertarians I do agree with, who insist I should call myself libertarian, are almost always indistinguishable from Cons utional conservatives.

What annoys me about some libertarians is precisely what annoys me about some people who proclaim that a certain level of socialist policy is necessary in a capitalist system.
Though both of these groups of people would likely acknowledge that the “political compass” style of mapping out our political landscape is superior to the left right paradigm, they still seem trapped in the idea of totalitarianism on one pole, and anarchism on the other.

I’ll agree with the far-right libertarians on one thing: socialism and capitalism are mutually exclusive political systems.

I’ll agree with the right-leaning folks who think that all capitalist governments are somewhat socialist on one thing: any legitimate government will require some controlled redistribution of wealth.

I’ll agree with far-left socialists on one thing:

In all seriousness, this is the problem I have with both sane groups. Capitalism may be mutually exclusive from socialism – but capitalism is not anarchism. Capitalist governments may require some level of wealth redistribution to exist – but wealth redistribution is not socialism.

Though not a perfect map, I find the Political Compass test to be very helpful for those figuring out where they stand.

A capitalist system is not automatically “partly socialist” because it has legitimate representative taxation, an armed military force, police, fire departments, roads, or even a social safety net.
These things are not inherently an hetical to capitalism. In fact, I would say some of them, such as an armed military force paid for by the citizenry, are inherent to the viable existence of a capitalist society.

Anarchy, like socialism, has never worked and will never work.

Socialism, like any other totalitarian system, has never worked and will never work.

    They are both utopian fantasies.

I am a Cons utional conservative. I believe that the role of the state is to protect the natural, God given rights of all individuals. I believe that the Founders of the United States of America created the best reflection of this ideal. I believe that the government must shrink at this point and time, to move closer to the ideal legislative framework of the Republic as found in the supreme law of the land, the Cons ution of The United States of America.

However, I also agree with this great article over at The Federalist which argues that the American founders were conservatives, not libertarians:

The American Founders believed that government exists to protect rights, just as libertarians do. But their understanding of rights was radically different from the libertarian understanding. Libertarians like Wenzel believe that protecting rights means prohibiting coercion. The Founders believed that protecting rights meant seeking the moral and material well-being of society. The American Founding was conservative, not libertarian. Libertarians will have to look elsewhere to support their beliefs.

I don’t think that a massive welfare state or total state control of educating children, for example, are good things. I live in Canada. Our social safety net is bloated, and eventually, it will fall apart. I consider this to likely be an inevitable situation in the future.

    I believe in small government.

However, big government is not always socialism.
    Socialism is socialism.
Socialism is not a flexible system – it is a totalitarian system, and almost always one stop on the road to communism. Capitalism is a flexible system. Capitalist systems comprise vastly difference expressions in government. Canada is a capitalist country. Sweden is a capitalist country. Norway is a capitalist country. Denmark is a capitalist country. These countries are in my view examples of delusional big government. But not socialism.

What makes a country socialist is common ownership. Not any and all wealth redistribution.

We destroy the possibility to ascertain good policy when we are trapped in the idea that our two options are totalitarianism and anarchy, and that any concession to market or government is a betrayal and hypocrisy to either.

Trump Calls Jeff Sessions ‘Mr. Magoo’ And Twitter Can’t Get Over It

Trump has reportedly taken to calling Attorney General Jeff Sessions Mr. Magoo, causing the classic bumbling cartoon character’s name to trend on Twitter late Wednesday.

The report in The Washington Post led to some decidedly mixed feelings on social media.

Some said the comment was was just more bullying by the president while others ― even some critics ― admitted to laughing at the insult

If Sessions had any pride, esp Confederate white pride, he'd resign because of Trash's mistreatment, public humiliation.

Donald Trump's Nobel Peace Prize nomination being investigated for fraud

The BBC is reporting that Donald Trump, best known for being a hate-filled, incompetent, rich, bloated windbag and fraud is having his mind-blowing Nobel Peace Prize nomination investigated.

Mr Trump was reportedly nominated for his "ideology of peace by force" by an anonymous American.

The director of the Nobel Ins ute said there were concerns that Mr Trump's nomination may have been falsified.

"I can say that we have good reason to believe that [the nomination of Mr Trump] is a fake,"

he’s Donald Trump and has yet to speak a word that was not filled with belligerence toward anyone not named Donald Trump. International Business Times added this:

"This happens very rarely, and if that happens then it does not matter. Those who nominate candidates considered relevant are checked whether they are valid nominees,” Lundestad told Vanguard News.

    [...]
"It is not unthinkable that Trump can be nominated by valid proposers.

But it must be confirmed that nominees have the opportunity to nominate candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize," Lundestad said.

Nothing is “unthinkable.” The president of the United States of America is Donald Trump,

Trump campaign is selling cap with white supremacist-approved'American Dreamer' slogan

The Trump campaign store is now selling an “American Dreamer” hat for $50, monetizing one of President Trump’s signature lines from his State of the Union speech last month.

The hat reads “American Dreamer” across the front, has an American flag s ched onto the side and “#MAGA” s ched onto the back. The hat is “proudly made in the USA,”

it wasn’t ing enough to “All Lives Matter” actual Dreamers at the State of the Union by claiming that “Americans are dreamers, too.”

You know who absolutely loved that phrase?

White supremacists like neo-Nazi Richard Spencer and this deplorable:

Former KKK grand wizard David Duke ... thanked Trump for including the line in his speech.

“Thank you President Trump,” he wrote.

    “Americans are ‘Dreamers’ too.”

To the folks who will buy this cap, nice company you got there.

“Because an 'I Hate Immigrants' hat would be a little too on the nose for the MAGA set,”

Trump In A Death Spiral As His White House Staff Is Trying To Quit

Trump’s White House staff is trying to quit.

The problem is that no one else will hire them because working for Trump has made them toxic.

    Buzzfeed reported:

A former White House official said he’s spoken with more aides inside the White House who are trying to leave the administration,

but not necessarily getting the kinds of high-paying offers in the corporate world as former aides usually do.

“Things are still pretty bleak inside the White House,” the source said.

“I’ve talked to several people in the last week trying to find a way out, but they can’t get out because no one is really hiring people with Trump White House experience.

Not a fun time to say the least.”

The reason why many people lower to mid-level jobs in a White House is that it a path to a good paying job after you leave.

In the case of those working for Trump, they are finding that there is no way out for them from this administration.

The fact that isn’t just high-level people like Hope Hicks who are heading for the exits,

but also lower-level staffers suggests that this president is in a death spiral.

Not only has Trump failed to fill many openings, but he can’t keep the people that he does bring in.

Trump is sinking fast, and there is no hope of him turning it around because the guy sitting in the Oval Office is the problem.

The president’s own staff is fleeing because the worst is yet to come.

Each staffer made the decision to come to work for Trump, so

no one should throw anybody a pity party now that they are unhireable.

Washington (CNN)Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Thursday that chief of staff John Kelly is running the West Wing through a culture of fear and predicted more departures from the White House are to come, adding that "morale is terrible."

WASHINGTON — The White House is preparing to replace H.R. McMaster as national security adviser as early as next month in a move orchestrated by chief of staff John Kelly and Defense Secretary James Mattis, according to five people familiar with the discussions.

    The. Best. People.
