I know he gets plenty of criticism on these boards and he’s not in the MVP discussion. But take a look at Kevin Durant’s February numbers. It’s not the flashy triple double wow stats. But his shooting numbers for the month were stupid crazy. Over 60% from the field, over 53% from three point range. For a jumpshooting wing. I mean for an entire month...

It’s still Harden or LeBron. And Durant may not even be top 5 in the MVP race. But while there’s been a small amount of hype over what Anthony Davis has been doing recently, I thought I’d mention how crazy a shooting month Durant had in his own right.

AT this point it’s gotta be:
    Harden
    Unibrow
    Lebron
    Durant
    Curry

It's easy to be efficient when you're bandwagoning the most stacked team in NBA history. Nothing Durbeta does in a Warriors uniform will ever be impressive.

60%+ from the field and 50%+ from 3PT over the course of a month, 11 games, for a jumpshooting wing would be impressive if he played for the original Dream Team in their prime and only scrimmaged the Little Sisters of the Poor club team.

Temper the hate with a little realism. It’s impressive. You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to like him. You don’t have to like his team. His shooting and scoring efficiency for February was ridiculously impressive.

Exactly. Was Lebron's MVP any less impressive with Wade and Bosh riding shotgun? CN defended him joining forces ...never took anything away from his championing his cause...

Take LeBron off that Heat team and they're maybe a second-round exit in year one and then a treadmill team in decline after that. Take Durbeta off the Warriors and they win it all and then follow it up with a 73-win season.

    MVP. GOAT.
harden gonna win (and should probably) but hard to find a better performance than Lebron put on Giannis last night when you consider (outside Kiwi) ...no one can defend him better from a physical standpoint and james dropped 40 10 and 10

Sook i have supported Harden and he should win mvp imho ...
However 40 10 and 10 pn national tv defended by Giannis rates high as amazing as that 60 triple double was .. and it probably cemented him mvp ...it wasnt on national tv and was not versus a top notch defender ...but neither was Kobe's 81 (unless nbatv counts)

I hate his style and guts but Harden is the MVP and it aint even close ..

Best player on a 60+win team with the best overall league record. Let's not overthink this again and allow travesties like Westbrook's MVP to happen in the future..

In light of what you are seeing out of this Spurs team; Russ basically stole Kawhi's MVP last year with a media-abetted triple-double craze..

not sure why u being so sensitive.
most of the media agrees Harden will win.
I also think he deserves to win.
    Just making two points
1 doing big performances on national TV matters ...
2 Lebron is making a late push that has been impressive ...
none of that detracts from the amazing and more consistent season Harden has had...
Im pretty sure not every mvp voter has watched both guys for all 82 games ...i have LP and probably seen half so many voters will just look at stats/boxscores ...and harden shouldvwin based off those ...
Again as great as Harden has been when lebron plays like last night hard to say anyone even harden is better ...but that doesnt mean Bron should be mvp tho...he was also blown out multiple timrs on national TV ...havent fogot those either.

Harden had a better case for MVP last year than West also.. he was on the 3rd seeded team without Chris Paul (Not the 6th seeded team) and damn near averaged a triple double himself. (29 ppg, 11 apg, and 8 rpg) He had the award stolen from him last season. Especially with the way Westbrook and his teammates let him stat rebounds. They basically would just box out and let him grab every uncontested rebound, He was taking rebounds away from his own bigs, it was embarrassingly shameful.

Bron gonna go off tonight in response to last night...but i think case closed. Great seasons by both guys but Harden is MVP.
