Still think the Spurs are functionally the third seed. The only team that has a legit claim to that spot right now is NO. It's a damned shame that SA has pissed away two games against the Pelicans and a game against the Blazers. even the game they lost to OKC and the games they lost to Denver sting. A slightly more clutch Spurs team would have five more wins and a comfortable lead for the third seed right now. They wouldn't even have to be more talented, just not as liable to shoot themselves in the foot.
Win against Lakers and we might go back to 3rd....I’m not sure when Blazers and Wolves play again, so if they win as well we will back in 5th. After the next 3 game road trip we might drop again. I think we reclaim our 3rd spot in the last 15 games.
Can't believe the Spurs are letting these trash teams go up on them. Probably cuz we're a trash team ourselves.
I'd be fine with the 5th seed and have them play Portland, think Spurs should/ would be favored. They'd also possibly avoid having to face the Warriors until the WCF. If Kawhi is healthy-who the knows- I'd give the Spurs a decent shot at winning a series against the rockets.
Spurs need to beat the Lakers and Griz and hope to go 1-2 during that 3 game road trip against OKC, Houston and GSW to not fall further down.
Minnesota could lose their five next games tbh; @Utah, Boston, GSW, @ Spurs, Houston (B2B) and the Clippers.
I expect the Spurs to finish above them in the standings.
Just wait till they lose 3 in a row during week next week.

Not really an appropriate comment for more complaining. The reason why I said that is because Minny is behind in the loss column and Portland sucks.
I was talking to someone about this the other day. The Spurs used to be that team that could raise their level of play in the last few minutes of a game to put teams away. They don't have that ability anymore. I used to laugh at how we'd toy with teams like the Suns for 3 1/2 quarters and then get serious in the last 6 minutes and win. Now we're the team being toyed with. We need Kawhi as he's the only closer left on this team.

I like this idea except with them as 1st seed and us as 8th seed. Would be funnier to see Pringles reaction to playing us after earning that 1st seed, especially if we get kawhi back.

It was more than Duncan, I it was a team with deep le experience. This team still has no anchor ... Our big players are lmao, kawhi, and Murray. One is injured, and one is raw. Everyone else is a role player who may be gone next year. Maybe the times have changed. The warriors have won a ton, and they are the resilient team. When we start winning, this will all be moot. Until then we're just another team in the barrel.
But I read here the Timberwolves are turrible...
