    "Best state" is subjective. This was a measure of "quality of life" and quantified by those metrics. I don't think it's the state where everyone's lining up to vacation, but if you're to live there, you're not going to deal with the stresses of living in California- ty government, ty crime, ty people, high costs of living.

    California, like Mexico- very small percentage of the geographic makeup is gorgeous, PERFECT for vacationing, the "things to do" is great, but if you're not doing six figures take home, you're either going to be living in the s or living check to check.
